Children today find it difficult to concentrate on or pay attention to school. What are the reasons? How can we solve this problem?
Students ought to spend most of their time on the school work, but nowadays it is not uncommon that(不罕見,很常見) are simply not able to put their heart to(集中精力做---)study. It is imperative that we should analyze possible reasons giving rise to this phenomenon objectively and figure out effective remedies.
From my own perspective, the causes of this phenomenon are manifold.
For one thing, today the students are surrounded by so many distractions that they gradually find that learning is too boring and uninteresting. While students two decades ago had nearly no choice but to(不得不 sit in the classroom and read books, students today can gain swift and convenient access to(快速方便接觸到) the Internet, on which they can do almost all things. For instance, they can play computer games, watch videos, search for any information they need and chat with their friends, to mention just a few(諸如此類). Accordingly, having been used to this kind of easy online life, many young people simply cannot throw themselves into(全身心投入) more serious and consuming school work.
Another essential factor that affects the students』 attitude towards their school work is that a good education seems not as important as before. For quite a long time, receiving high-quality education was the only channel and platform for young people to get a decent job and earn a high salary. But now, this is apparently not the case any more. Influenced by business starts like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, many young people now begin to believe one』s success does not have much to do with (與---關係不大)the education he receives. The students, therefore, are not motivated enough to focus on their learning.
To crack this hard nut, some effective and feasible measures should be adopted without any delay. To be specific, the school and parents should make joint efforts to set limits on the time children spent online. The Internet is a marvelous invention, yet obsession with it will certainly reduce the time that should have been dedicated to more serious work. Besides, youngsters are supposed to understand that life is not just about making money, but about having rich and colorful experience and education is the best gateway to that rewarding life.
