別再用錯as well as和and|翻譯小知識

中美經貿關係既對兩國意義重大，也對全球經濟穩定和發展有著舉足輕重的影響。

Trade and economic relations between China and the US are of great significance for the two countries as well as for the stability and development of the world economy.

很多人寫成了and，今天「高齋翻譯學堂」就給大家分享關於 as well as的用法。這平時的練習中也是經常碰到的。通過例句給大家總結了關於它 的用法。

• as well as也可以換為and，但是as well as起到強調作用，而且A as well as B, 主要在強調A，後面介詞可加，可不加。

• 1.Hollywood has always been about marketing dreams to investors as well as to audiences.

好萊塢總是致力於向投資者和觀眾推銷夢想。（金融時報）

2.you need to pre-sell in China as well as the US.

你需要在中國以及美國預售。（金融時報）

第1例句加上介詞to, 第2例句都省略了介詞in，也可以加上in， in China as well as in the US。

• 並列用as well as，相當於, and，但是as well as起到強調作用，而且A as well as B, 主要在強調A。

• Website traffic includes customers checking online prices and information, as well as those actually buying.

網站流量包括消費者查詢網購價格和信息，以及實際購買操作。（金融時報）

分析：those指的是new practitioners，這個as well as更好，使用and與後面的and重複了。

• as well as 前後連接的是一個不同的整體，,and會引起歧義，as well as避免引起歧義。

• 1. Gree has plants in four provinces in China as well as Brazil, Vietnam and Pakistan.

格力在中國的四個省份設有工廠，另外在巴西、越南和巴基斯坦也有工廠。（金融時報）

分析：例1如果寫成and，會引起歧義，誤以為是China和Brazil, Vietnam and Pakistan並列，其實是four provinces in China 和Brazil, Vietnam and Pakistan並列。

• as well as 連接的前後都是不同的整體，前面或者後面小並列是整體，後面是獨自的整體，使用,and會引起歧義。

• 1.This can include practical abilities such as riding a bike and kneading dough, as well as higher-level tasks.

這包括騎自行車和揉面，以及更高水平的實踐能力。

2.Yet slower predicted growth in China』s property and infrastructure this year, as well as rising scrap prices, could dampen the steel boom.

不過，預計今年中國房地產和基礎設施增長放緩以及廢鋼價格上漲，可能會抑制鋼鐵業這輪繁榮期。（金融時報）

注意：例1：如果使用riding a bike and kneading dough, and higher-level tasks會誤以為是並列的，但是前面riding a bike and kneading dough是基礎能力，後面是 higher-level tasks高技術能力，所以使用as well as避免引起歧義。

例句2 as well as 前面省略了 China』s，說明物主代詞不需要重複。

• as well as 前後連接的是一個不同的整體，避免and使用太多，使用as well as

• 1. 我們要加強各國議會、政黨、民間組織往來，密切婦女、青年、殘疾人等群體交流，促進包容發展。我們也要加強國際反腐合作，讓「一帶一路」成為廉潔之路。

We should strengthen exchanges between parliaments, political parties and non-governmental organizations of different countries as well as between women, youths and people with disabilities with a view to achieving inclusive development.

2. 還有前面提到的那段：of great significance for the two countries as well as for the stability and development of the world economy.

例1和例2：前後是不能直接並列的，前後各屬於一個整體，前後都是並列短語，所以使用as well as並列，不建議使用，and，因為避免使用太多逗號。而且重複介詞顯得結構更加清晰。

而且加上介詞更有強調的感覺，比如范冰冰道歉信英文版裡面有這樣一句：Again, I apologize to society and my devoted fans, as well as to my friends and family who care about me. I sincerely say: I am sorry!

• as well as作介詞，後面接動詞ing或原型，意為「除了??之外，不僅，還有」，後接n or v-ing

• As well as trying to master the Chinese language, Mr Zuckerberg has entertained China』s chief censor at his San Francisco home.

除了努力學習中文，扎克伯格還在舊金山的家中款待中國審查機構負責人。（金融時報）
