Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: one can learn a lot about another person from the books and the movies that the person likes.
1 The books and movies one sees helps shape who he or she is, therefore reflecting a lot about his or her thoughts.
1.1 Just like the lyric from Bob Dylans song "Blowing in the Wind" goes, "how many roads must a man walk down, before he can call him a man", no one is naturally self- made but made by various forms of experiences on his life journey.
1.2 Movies and books are an essential part of this journey.
2 Therefore, ones preference for things is not from nowhere, but determined by how he or she views him-/her- self and the world.
2.1 Books are products of writers, displaying many of his or her own thoughts and views, and movies reflect the thinking of the director and playwright. The process of exploring them is one absorbing their ideas, subconsciously making them become part themselves.
3 Thats why books and movies can tell a lot about a person.
1 It is a great way to see the mental struggles and experiences of a person by the books and movies they like.
1.1 If one like a certain book or movie, quite often its because it presents answers to his or her confusions.
2 As long as we are living on this world, we are always facing all kinds of harsh questions and problems.
2.1 It is said that every human being faces three philosophical questions: first, who am I? Second, where Im from? Third, where Im going to.
2.2 Socrates said that "the unexamined life is not worth living", but it is so hard and painful to address the adversities when trying to live an examined life.
2.3 I was once so confused about what to do in the future, it seemed to me that life was full of possibilities and I wanted to try every one of them.
2.4 It frustrated me that no one could try every possibility in life.
3 A psychological book called The Art of Choosing helped me out of my predicament.
3.1 This book told me that people are less happier and dont know what to do when facing too many choices, the happiest person is, usually, the one who never has to choose.
3.2 So I crossed out all other choices but one, and I felt so relieved even though it was not something Im so good at.
