SUEZ Opens a 4th R&D; Center in China

在繼上海化學工業區水研究中心、固廢研發中心以及重慶中法環保研發中心之後,蘇伊士在中國的第四個研發中心在上海張江揭幕。

Following the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Water Research Center, Waste R&D; Center and Chongqing Sino French Environmental Excellence Research and Development Center, SUEZ unveiled its 4th research center in Shanghai.

專門針對中國客戶尋求創新的解決方案,不僅進一步提升蘇伊士集團在華的研發實力,為其全面深耕中國水處理市場提供強大技術支持。

The new center, focusing specifically on developing innovative solutions for Chinese customers, will not only improve the research capabilities of SUEZ Group further in China but also provide vital technical support for its further penetration in the water treatment market across China.

這個前身於2003年成立的GE水處理業務研發中心,現成為蘇伊士全球科研的重要一員。

The new center, founded in 2003 and formerly known as GE Water & Process Technologies Shanghai Research Center, is now an integral part of SUEZ』s global R&D; network and is in China and for China.

中心研發的產品主要針對中國客戶,全面覆蓋化學、材料、生物工程、化學工程、環境工程五大基礎研發領域。

The products of the new center are tested to better serve Chinese customers.Specialized in water treatment, it targets five basic research areas of chemistry, materials, bio-engineering, chemical engineering and environmental science.

重點攻克難降解COD去除、先進膜/電分離技術、高濃鹽水零排放及純鹽技術、數字化技術及服務、高效綠色水處理解決方案、難處理化工工藝過程解決方案。

And focuses on the removal of non-degradable Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), advanced membrane/electro-separation, zero liquid discharge solution for highly concentrated wastewater, digital technology and services, efficient and green water treatment solutions and solutions for sophisticated chemical processes.

例如,由中國團隊研發的高效生物反應器專門用於難降解有機物去除,經濟高效。

For example, the advanced bioreactor developed by the Chinese team has been applied to refractory organics treatment economically and efficiently.

巴斯夫完成對拜耳蔬菜種子業務收購

BASF closes acquisition of vegetable seeds business from Bayer

巴斯夫近日完成了對拜耳旗下以紐內姆(Nunhems)品牌運營的全球蔬菜種子業務的收購。

BASF closed the acquisition of Bayer』s global vegetable seeds business, mainly operating under the brand Nunhems.

收購該品牌將為巴斯夫現有產品組合再添優良資產,此次收購的蔬菜種子業務涉及24種作物、約2,600個作物品種,和多個成熟而強大的研發、育種體系,體系內有超過15種作物的百餘個獨一無二的育種項目。

The transaction adds a well-recognized brand to BASF』s portfolio. The acquired vegetable seeds business comprises 24 crops and about 2,600 varieties. It also includes well-established, strong R&D; and breeding systems with over 100 unique breeding programs in more than 15 crops.

The addition of the vegetable seeds business enhances BASF』s global offer to farmers.

Flight Times Extended by Major Airlines to Avoid Claims

According to The Guardian, plane journeys are taking longer than a decade ago, according to a report that claims the change is down to airlines 「padding」 their schedules to create the impression passengers were reaching their destinations on time.

消費者雜誌《Which? Travel》進行調查後聲稱,航空公司將航班時刻表延長,在某些情況下,延長最高達到30分鐘,以確保它們能夠保持航班準點,由此,它們對乘客承擔賠償責任的幾率也降低了。

Carriers are adding extra time to flight schedules, in some cases up to 30 minutes, to ensure they maintain punctuality and are therefore less likely to be liable for compensation payouts, the investigation by Which? Travel claimed.

The majority of flight routes are advertised as taking longer than 10 years ago, despite improvements in aircraft technology, the report found.

Researchers examined average flight times for 125 routes operated by large airlines in 2009 and compared them with last year. They found that 76 routes, 61%, were now slated to take longer; with 87% of British Airways flights analyzed found to be slower. That proportion was 82% for Ryanair, 75% for Virgin Atlantic and 62% for easyJet.

據《Which?Travel》雜誌的數據顯示,英航、易捷和瑞安去年的準點率都低於2009年,易捷在八年間的準點率下降了10%。

According to Which?Travel, BA, easyJet and Ryanair were all less punctual last year than in 2009, with easyJet recording a 10% fall in punctuality during the eight-year period.

Airlines told the consumer magazine their aircraft were flying at slower speeds to reduce fuel consumption and that this allowed them to offer cheaper fares. BA also told Which? that air traffic control congestion was a factor, with European skies now much busier than 10 years ago.
