Dont be upset - life is full of it, eh?

What a night of "upsets"!

A.

Luzhniki Stadium is prepared for the final game of World Cup - but that is not already reserved for Germans, at least for now.

The top seeds had to face a low turn in the movement: Mexico survived Germans 25 shots (and one third of them were on target) and defeated the defending champion.

There is no excuse for Germany - they have shown formidable attacking abilities at the qualifying stage, winning all the ten games plus whopping 43 goals in total, though Joachim Lows team won only one of the friendlies before the tournament.

Germans looked a bit tired - not really physically, but mentally - as they tried to gain a quick goal in the early game, but shocked by the vitality and perseverance of Mexicans, as well as their discipline of defense. They seemed to underestimate the quickness and tactics.

They were soon punished with Mexicos endless attempts of counter-attack. In the 35th minute of the game, Hirving Lozano drove into the penalty area and finished a lightning goal - sending the ball to the top-left dead angle.

On the side of Mexico, they were relatively the "underdog" of the game, but talking about the teams performance, it is worth every single piece of word of compliment. Their speed and energy stuns the other side and their fans - probably most football fans in the world.

Heading to the second game of Group F - Low has no choice but find a way to handle Sweden - another tenacious team in this group. Once Mexico wins against South Korea, it will be in a very comfortable position of qualifying for the next stage (the elimination).

B.

Shameful loss was so deeply etched in Brazil teams memory - that was why the world witnessed its powerful show in the qualifying games. Reasonably, there is so much expectation on the team.

But you know what? When a team has been favoured by the whole world, it gets into trouble. On the same night, in the last game of the day, Brazil was pulled back on the way to their 10th consecutive opening wins by Swiss.

The Don River saw how Swiss fought against the five-time World Cup champion, just like David in front of Goliath.

When Coutinho curled the opener in the 20th minute, with the attacking tide of Brazilians being seemingly unstoppable, no one would believe that Switzerland could come back in the second half.

A trident of Gabriel Jesus from Man City, Willian from Chelsea and Neymar from PSG, is a dangerous front-three for any other teams, as well as a luxury for Brazils attacking line. But Swiss showed their resilience against Brazilians fluid play (tik-tok like?). On 49, Steven Zubers header from a corner - the 25th goal of the tournament, took Switzerland back home safely, with a hard-earned 1 point.

The draw has made the situations in Group E more complex - now Serbia is temporarily the No.1 in the group, leaving Brazil one last stand - they have to beat Costa Rica next.

C.

Sometimes in life, you dont really have to be the "top-notch" one all the time - when it is time for you to step on the stage, just enjoy it, and show the audience what youre made of. Mexico and Switzerland are perfect examples.

Most of us are Mr. Nobody in where we are. But who knows? Who knows if the "David" can find his slingshot and hit the forehead of the "Goliath"?

This is why we love football. Football is a mirror of life. Trust yourself.
