作為母語是中文的英語學習者,特別是英語初學者,想必經常遇到的一大難題就是難以規避的Chinglish表達。我們的母語環境在每一位學習者身上都刻上了深深的烙印,產生了極具標誌性的影響。這樣的影響從表面來看在於語言,從深層來看,其實在於思維。細心並且渴求突破學習瓶頸的你,一定還記得前不久分享給大家的「體驗式學習法「。想必大家也了解到:體驗式學習法的要點之一是培養英語思維,將英語學習切實地聯繫到自身的生活體驗和經歷中。教研君一直秉承這樣的觀點:語言學習的最終目的是交流,活學活用才是根本之道。因此如何讓我們所講的英語真正為native的老外所聽懂,是我們進行英語交流的最初出發點也是最終歸宿。 可是一講到交流,大家就要哭訴:「老外講的話明明每個詞我都認識,但連起來我就是搞不清楚正確的意思。」或者:「我講的話沒有錯啊,和我構想的中文意思一字不差、一一對應呢,可是為什麼老外就是聽不懂?」小夥伴們,這就是我們所說的文化和思維差異啦。簡單地說,為了達到語言交流的目的,我們就要有意地規避明顯存在的文化和思維差異,儘可能地貼近目標語言慣用的表達方式。在本文中,暫且將這些慣用的表達方式稱作「俚語」(實際上,依據不同標準,對於「俚語」一詞的定義也是不一的)。本文整理了一些與人際交往相關的常用俚語。絕對精華,值得小夥伴們猛烈收藏! have a word with sb 與……談一下(嚴肅且時間短) I think I need have a word with my partner. leave someone high and dry 使……孤立無援 Don"t rely on him. He will leave you make it easy on sb.放某人一馬 I"ll make it easy on you, if you promise to be on time for work from now on. beat sb. to the draw 比……搶先一步 I lose the project. Johnson beat me to the draw. fill me in on 告訴我(= tell me) What"s your plan? Please fill me in on! get over 原諒,克服 I just can"t get over him. set sb. up 陷害某人 I didn"t steal your book. I was set up! out of one"s mind 發神經,失去理智 You must be out of your mind to lend him money. get to sb.使……煩心 Don"t let it get to you. split it out 有話直說 I took a long time answering, so my teacher told me split it out. loop up to sb.尊敬,崇拜 A lot of people look up to the professor. sb./sth. is history ……不再重要 That girl is history. I"ve already got over her. keep one"s edge 保持最好狀態 You have to practive every day in order to keep your edge. blow hot and cold 飄忽不定,猶豫不決 Speaking of marriage, he blew both hot and cold. cross one"s heart 發誓(在胸前畫十字架) Cross my heart! I never cheated you. get high hat 擺架子 Don"t get high hat. keep one"s shirt on 保持冷靜(= take it easy) Keep your shirt on. We have plenty of time to catch the train. bleeding heart 老好人(= kind man) He was accused of being a bleeding heart on welfare issues. give sb. a hand 提供幫助 Please give me a hand and hold the board while I paint it. pull one"s leg 開某人玩笑 You"re always pulling my leg. go for broke 放手一搏,孤注一擲 I"ll go for broke in this exam. add up 講得通(=make sense) His story just doesn"t add up. He must be lying. jump to conclusion 倉促地下結論 Don"t jump to conclusions. I will prove myself. round to the clock 夜以繼日地 The ambulance services worked round to the clock. have an ace in the hole 底牌,殺手鐧 Tom seems awfully confident. He must have an ace in the hole. in the bag 穩操勝券 We have the deal in the bag.
