王爾德簡介：　　奧斯卡·王爾德（Oscar Wilde，1854~1900），19世紀愛爾蘭（當時由英國統治）最偉大的作家與藝術家之一，以其劇作、詩歌、童話和小說聞名。唯美主義代表人物，19世紀80年代美學運動的主力和90年代頹廢派運動的先驅。 生於都柏林醫生家庭。曾就讀於都柏林三一學院。1878年畢業於牛津大學莫德林學院。求學期間受英國作家羅斯金（John Ruskin）和佩特（Walter Horatio Pater）影響，建立起以享樂主義為基礎的唯美主義思想，並成為英國唯美主義的代表人物。1888年發表一組優美動人的童話《快樂王子故事集》（1888）。唯一的長篇小說《道林·格雷的畫像》（1890）曾被斥為」邪書「。他在《道林·格雷的畫像》的序言和論文集《意圖》中系統闡述」為藝術而藝術「的美學觀點，認為作品的價值在於藝術形式的完美，而與社會倫理道德無關。後接連發表風俗喜劇《理想的丈夫》（1898）等，演出後頗受歡迎。1895年《認真的重要》被認為是他的代表劇作。 1885年因被他人告發私生活不檢點判服苦役兩年。後寫長詩《雷丁監獄之歌》（1898）描述自己的心情。出獄後移居巴黎，三年後客死他鄉。作品還有獨幕劇《莎樂美》（1895）、散文《謊言的衰朽》（1889）等。　　We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
