雅西高速公路是交通運輸部確定的「勘察設計典型示範」和「科技示範」雙示範項目。它是北京至昆明高速公路（G5）和八條西部大通道之一甘肅蘭州至雲南磨憨公路在四川境內的重要組成部分。　　起於雅安對岩鎮，經雨城區、滎經、漢源、石棉，止於涼山彝族自治州冕寧縣瀘沽鎮，全長240千米，採用四車道高速公路，設計速度80千米/小時，總投資約206億元。被譽為「雲端上的高速公路」的四川雅安至西昌高速公路全線建成通車。

　　Dayum @ Chinese Engineering . This gotta be one in the list of modern man made marvels . On a side note i am hoping to visit China by early next year for a couple of weeks . Will try to include this in my itinerary if its allowed and possible.
