Who are you? - notes from 「Word Power Made Easy」

Everyone is unique, in one way or another. Lets talk about ten personalities today and find out which might be your own.

Egoist: me first

The principle of the life is simple and direct—every decision you made is based on yourself.

Egotist: the height of conceit

I can answer every question because I am an expert at particularly everything. I am boastful to the point of being obnoxious, and every conversation concentrates on the accomplishments of myself.

Altruist: let me help you

I find happiness of concerning myself with welfare of others.

Introvert:leave me alone

I may seem unsocial, yet my greatest desire is to be like and accepted. I ask myself hundreds of times everyday—「what do other people think of me」, 「how do l look」 and so on. I turn my thoughts inward.

Extrovert: let』s do it together

You love to be help other』s problems. You are the party of life, since you never worry about the effect of you actions. Your thoughts, interests, and whole personality are turned outward.

Ambivert:neither extreme

You have both introverted and extroverted tendencies at different times and on different occasions. You indeed are quit normal, in the sense that your personality is like that of most people.

Misanthrope: people are no damn good

You hate everyone. The stupidity, the meanness, and the crookedness of most mortals are your favorite theme.

Misogynist: women are no damn good

You may be wounded by a woman( a mother or a mother figure.). You have a carefully constructed defense against further hurt—you hate all women.

Misogamist: marriage is an institution and who wants to live in an institution?

You do not like the ultimate legal commitment, though you may have lovers. You may believe that a commitment is deeper and more meaningful if freedom is available without judicial proceedings.

Ascetic:does not pursue pleasure of flesh

The simplest food and the least amount of it that will keep body and soul together, combined with abstinence from fleshly, earthly pleasures, will eventually lead to spiritual perfection—that is your philosophy. You may live a lonely, austere life, not a luxury one.

conceit (自負)

obnoxious(討厭的)

abstinence(節制)

以上都是從「Word Power Made Easy」 by Norman Lewis Unit1 Session 3 的筆記。
