Hello and welcome, in this video we will make our first steps in Odoo CRM. We will have a look at the apps we need, we will create manually our first leads, we will also import a list of our leads, we will then confirm your sales channel, and we would end with having a look on how to automate a lead creation.

Lets see which apps we need to cover in this video, well obviously the CRM app will be covered in this and next video, with the CRM app, you can manage a lead and manage opportunity and optimize your sales funnel.

For this first video, we will talk about the leads, lets first start with creating a lead in Odoo. A lead represents any person or organization that the company might have the potential to do business with. In fact, creating a lead record of information about a new lead is often the first step users take in the sales process. That being said, lets switch over to our database, when entering the CRM app, we first need to activate the use of leads, from the configuration menu, lets go to the settings, and here we can now activate the leads, when having saving it, in the pipeline menu, we now have this lead menu item. Lets go directly to the leads, and from now I can easily create my leads manually by just clicking on create. We see here, to start a simple form view with general information to enter, so enter a lead description, "My first Lead" for example, I can enter the company name from which I received a demand of information, lets call our company name Starteck. Lets enter the address also, for example 2826 Grandy Street, the city of New York, the state is of course New York, the ZIP code of New York, 14462, of course from the United States, we could even enter a website information, we can also enter a contact name, Thomas C Gentile, we can select the title Mister, and a email address, position, this is all general information, and now you can select a sales channel that will handle this lead, um, in this context we will talk about that later in this video, and below an internal note tab to enter more explanation regarding these leads. The extra info tab gives you the possibility to check the Opt-Out button, it is to prevent client to receive any mail from further mail campaign, and here above, the possibility to convert the lead to an opportunity, if you think that the lead is interested in getting more information about the product you are selling, lets save this lead, and now clicking back on the leads, we see here our first data has been entered.

Now if you have received a lot of leads, it is always nice to upload them instead of entering their manually, therefore, you will find a pretty fine template that will help you to import your leads in this CRM chapter, it is called the "lead import template", you can download it and I use it for your own import. Lets have a look on how it works, first look at the template itself, a few columns, with the names, please do not change the column of the names as they are important for Odoo to recognize in which fields the data need to be imported. To import an Excel or CSV file, we need to go to the list view and click Import. If you need more explanation about the import, we might click here on the help, it will answer you a lot of questions about how to import data into Odoo. Lets load the file I just showed you, lead template, now, we see here that columns name has been recognized by Odoo, clicking on test import, well check if the file is okay to be uploaded, in case the file would be incorrect, the remark in reds will tell you at which line there is a problem and why, if the file is okay, we can now click on the import button, and now all my leads have just been imported.

Next point is interesting when your sales department who works with different channels. We need to configure them so that leads can be assigned to the right teams. Back in our database, lets reenter the CRM app, from the configuration menu, we can now access the sales channels, as you can see, there is always one sale channel that is created by default. Lets enter this one, in here, well find the possibly to enter the name of your sales channel, we will also here be able, to check the box, and to apply the sales channel whether to the pipeline which is the opportunities, or the leads, or both of them, of course a channel leader, we can here choose for example my manager, and the mail alias, the mail alias will be able to automate lead creations, just by sending an email using this email address. Important to note here regarding the email alias is, when both possibilities here are marked, the incoming email would create a lead, if you want the incoming email just to create opportunities, you might uncheck the lead box. Below you can choose the members that will be associated to this sales channel, and in the dashboard tab, you can choose, what type of graph youd like to see, this graph will be visible from the sales menu item in the reporting section. Lets create a second sales channel, we will call it, Partnership, we will only use this channel to manage our opportunities, we will also enter an alias to be used, partnership, and in the team members, I will add a, The trainers and MyColleague.

Now that our sales channels are created, lets see how it works when the email alias is used to generate automatically leads or opportunities. So, lets see how it works, and from my mail box I will send two mails, the first one, is to the sales alias which actually will create a new lead, Im just entering some information and send it, and the second mail we will send is, for the second alias is partnership, which actually will create a new opportunity. Lets click send and see what happens into our database. Now lets have a look in our database in the CRM app, Im just, removing the filter, you see here that the incoming email has been generated, "Id like to have an offer", and linked to the right sales channel, the other one we sent was for, the lead creation of a lead, and here we have it "What does your company sells?", and link to the right channels, as you can see, it is very easy to use the mail alias to generate weather incoming opportunities or incoming to leads.
