上次說到要想在10分鐘之內做好這SWT，除了提高閱讀能力之外，還要掌握一些技巧。首先要安排答題時間：2-3分鐘內讀懂文章，5分鐘寫句子，剩下2-3分鐘檢查語法辭彙搭配。在閱讀的過程中要學會尋找連接詞，和刪減從句。

SWT有區別於SST的兩點分別是：第一，字數要求在5-75個字之間；第二，完整的一個句子。要想把這兩點分拿到手，就要有紮實的語法結構基礎，所以今天詳細分析一下，如何將眾多key elements組合成完整的一句話。

一句話的基本結構是：

1個主句+從句（1個或者多個）+插入語（1個或者多個）

一個完整的主語有「主語+謂語」，「主語+謂語+主補」，「主語+謂語+賓語」，「主語+謂語+賓語+賓語」，「主語+謂語+賓語+賓語補語」等五種基本結構，千萬不可缺少成分，或者一句話中有兩個主句。

從句

三大從句是：形容詞性從句（即定語從句）；副詞性從句（即狀語從句）；和名詞性從句（包括：主語從句，賓語從句，表語從句和同位語從句）。

修飾名詞或代詞的從句是定語從句 :

He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man.

We are all looking forward to the day when 2008 Olympic Games begin in Beijing.

修飾一個句子的從句是狀語從句 :

When he was walking in the street yesterday, he met with a friend of his.

在句中作主語的從句叫主語從句：

That he came home late at night worried his parents.

在句中作賓語的從句叫賓語從句：

I dont know why he came home late at night.

在句中作表語的從句叫表語從句：

It looks as if it is going to rain.

在句中作同位語的從句叫同位語從句 ：

I have no idea why he came home late at night.

定語從句由關係代詞或關係副詞引導，關係詞在從句中擔當相應的句子成分，關係代詞在從句中作賓語時經常可省略。同位語從句主要由連詞that 引導，在從句中一般不擔當成分；有時也由where, when, how, who, whether, what 等連詞引導，這些連詞則在從句中擔當成分。

The news that he told me is true. （定語從句）

他告訴我的消息是真的。

The news that he has just died is true. （同位語從句）

他剛剛去世了，這個消息是真的。

插入語

英語中的插入語是插在句子中的一個詞，短語或從句，通常被逗號、破折號或句子的其他部分隔開，它與句子的其他部分之間沒有語法上的關係，因此，有的語法學家將其歸為獨立成分.

插入語在句中通常是對一句話的一些附加解釋，說明或總結；有時表示說話者的態度和看法；有時起強調的作用；有時是為了引起對方的注意；還可以起轉移話題或說明事由的作用；也可以承上啟下,使句子與前面的語句銜接的更緊密一些.

插入語的類型有：

形容詞（短語）作插入語

True,it would be too bad.　

真的，太糟了。

副詞（短語）作插入語

When he got there，he found，however，that the weather was too bad.　

可是到了那兒之後他發現,那兒的天氣太壞了。

介詞短語作插入語

You can』t wait anymore-in other words,you should start at once.　

你不能再等了——換言之，你得立即出發。

類似介詞有：

in fact, in one』s opinion, in general, in a word, in other words, in a few

hand, to one』s surprise, in short

V-ing（短語）作插入語

Generally speaking, the weather there is neither too cold in winter nor too hot in summer.　

一般來說，那兒的氣候冬天不太冷，夏天不太熱.。

不定式短語作插入語

To tell you the truth，I』m not so interested in the matter.　

跟你說實話，我對這件事情的興趣不大。

掌握這些語法基礎，寫多長的句子都不是難事.
