Dear XXXX，

My name is XXXX(Applicant number: XXXX). I was recently admitted to the XXXX program at your university. I』m ecstatic to have been admitted to the incoming class and can』t wait to join.

I am writing to request a one-year deferral to the program.

My reason for deferment is that I am encountering illness challenges which has made my stay at home and hospital. I was diagnosed with XX疾病 and was advised to rest for recovery for a year. Attached is my medical certificate.

In order to hold my place in the following year』s class, the deposit was paid several month ago. However, health is an urgent priority for me and I have to defer studies at the request of my doctor.
