Christmas continues to gain popularity in China, particularly among the young.

Unlike Western Christmas, Chinese celebrate it mainly through dating, shopping, and giving gifts. Because there is no holiday during Christmas in China, young people just celebrate it as a way to unleash pressure and stress.

與西方人過聖誕節的方式不同，中國人在聖誕節期間主要是約會、購物、並且互相贈送禮物。因為中國在聖誕節不放假，中國的年輕人僅僅把聖誕節作為釋放壓力的一個方式而已。

Chinese people prefer family gatherings and other group activities in traditional Chinese festivals rather than Christmas.

中國人更喜歡在傳統的中國節日合家歡聚，而不是在聖誕節。

In fact, Chinese people have added so many Chinese elements to the essential Western celebration. For example, apples have been wrapped in red and green paper to be gifted as presents on Christmas Eve, because the pronunciation of the first character in apple sounds like "safe and sound" in Chinese.

China shows high cultural self-confidence in the aspect of cultural exchange. On one hand, we absorb the positive part of foreign culture. On the other hand, we discard the negative part.

There is no denying that many of the Chinese people, especially the youth, who celebrate Western Christmas, dont know why it is celebrated at all. Even school students know why Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day or the National Day is celebrated.
