要空間 Yell Space

「要空間」是一個新近成立的非營利藝術空間，地處上海M50。「要空間」以獨立、自由、開放為宗旨，欲求打造藝術家的第三方實驗平台。

「要空間」堅持對當代藝術中的新變化保持敏銳的觀察和積极參与。我們希望這裡能成為藝術家們的集聚地，共同打造一個思想呈現、觀念探討、作品交流的呼吸現場。

"Yell Space" is a non-profit art space which is newly established in Shanghai M50. It aims to creat an independent, liberal and open platform for the artists that the purpose of creating the third party .

"Yell space" has always been in actively engaged in the changes of contemporary art filed with a keen observation. We are hoping to provide a place which artists could communicate ideas and share artworks together.

『要空間·展覽』 方案展——局部檔案

這次展覽我們將其命名為《要空間方案展——局部檔案》，是一次關於「方案」的討論與呈現。藝術家如何處理方案與空間的關係，如何越出我們通常意義上的樣式與概念，也許是這次方案展所要直面的挑戰部分。也許，方案展既不是文字簡述與草圖的並置，也不是對文獻的羅列與改造；它也許是猝不及防的來到，是點到為止的例外；它是挑釁，又是生長。方案展不設主題，我們想，最好的主題就是藝術家自身，是藝術家正在思考、關心與行動的眼前問題。

"Yell Space" will hold its first exhibition on Saturday, May 20th. The events title is Yell Space Programme Exhibition-Partial Archive". How do we deal with the relationship between the artist and the space? How do we go beyond the style and concept of our common sense is a challenging part of the plan we need to face. Perhaps "exhibition" is neither a juxtaposition of program text description and sketch, nor the literature list and transformation; it is, perhaps, how the two come to be caught off guard, it is the exception; it is provocation, and growth. Programme Exhibition doesnt have a theme. We think that the best theme is the artist himself, and the current problems about which the artist is thinking, caring, and acting.

方案展將是一個延續性項目，籌集到的藝術方案將會有序的分階段展出。方案徵集是長期的，我們將與藝術家一道建立起藝術家們的方案文獻庫，在景觀化展示成為流行主流的當下，我們更專註於文獻的邊界拓展以及和藝術家共同成長的經驗。這是一件考驗耐力但又非常具有意義的趣事。屆時，我們希望你能與我們在要空間一聚。

The exhibition will be an ongoing project, and the art program will be ordered in stages and displayed. The programs solicitation period will be long-term; we will work with artists, establish an artists program library, and through the spectacle of display, become popular in the mainstream of the moment, as we concentrate more on the boundaries of documents and on artists experience of mutual growth. This is a test of endurance, but also very meaningful and fun. By then, we hope we all can gather together in Yell Space.
