This is the practise of protecting wild animals and their habitats from destruction, since not just making sure the animals is alive is important, without their habitat

they will not be able to survive so concentrating on just the animals will be a

waste of time. The main goal of any animal』s conservation company is to make

sure that animals will be able to survive in the wild and multiply to bring the

population back to a state where we would not have to look after them again.

A lot of research has been done to learn how to reintroduce animals back into the

habitat. If the animals haven』t had the right training before going back into

the wild, it will likely die within a couple of weeks. This could be due to not

knowing what animals are predators, not knowing where to sleep for safety or

not being able to find food successfully.

So, before any animals is released into the wild it will have to have a test, the habitats

of the animals will be built to replicate their natural habitat. Food will be

hidden in the habitat, so the animals can learn how to hunt for food, if the

animal is a predator sometimes small rodent are used to teach hunting. One of

the hardest parts of the rehabilitation for the animals, is the lack of human

contact. This will be done with humans dressing as animals or using puppets to

feed the animals. while this looks strange to other people watching, it really

works. This is so the animals don』t imprint on human.

When an animal been placed back into the wild

when an animal has been put back into the wild successfully that is not the end, as

with everything in the world there is a knock-on effect. One of the best

examples of this are the wolfs of Yellowstone park, while wolves use to live on

the land they were hunted to near extinction but through conservation the

number of wolves became larger enough to be released back into the park. One of

the things the wolves had to do is control an area for hunting, but the area

they would normal hunt was taken over by elks .as the wolves started eating the

elks, the elks had to move to a new area to be safe. The knock-on effect with

this is that vegetation could grow in one area and be eaten in another, this

created animals creating new homes and even made a new path for a river to flow.

Just because one species of animals moved into an area the whole ecosystem was

changed.

If you want to help

There are organisations out there which could use your help, we will name a some of the best and what type of animals they help. Some of these organisations do not

want money but want help where you can fly out and spend months working with

the live animals and make a difference. if the animals you love are not on the

list you might be able to find one in your local area.

The international Rhino Fund

This organisation has been helping the conservation of rhinos for 25 years, they

have operations in Asia and Africa. They try to stop some of the rarest rhinos

from being poached the rhinos that they help are

· Sumatran rhino

· Javan Rhino

· Greater One-Horned rhino

· Black rhino

· White rhino

The World Wildlife Fund

This organisation is one of the most famous as they help animals all over the world,

while this company works hard they have made a huge difference from bringing

animals to their natural habitat or cleaning the ocean for sea life. The vision

for the WWF is 「WWF fights to secure a future for animals on the planet we all

share, we envision, create, test and deliver solutions for a crowded planet」

The animals the WWF help are a wide range but they range from tigers to whales.

Project AWARE Foundation

This is an ocean base conservation helping the animals of the sea, this company has been working for over 20 years. There are two projects the organisations work on and

that is

· Sharks in peril: providing support to sharks who are in danger

· Diving against debris: this helps all animals by cleaning up pollution in the ocean

To help the organisation you must be passionate about diving and exploring the ocean.

These are just a few of the organisations that are in the world, each one showing the diverse group if animals. with hundreds of organisations out there you will find one

that will help the animals you love. If you fail to find an organisation for

you, there is nothing that is stopping you from starting you own animal

conversation group with friends.

Conclusion

Helping animals is very important and it also provides a future for you children and

grandchildren. You can start small by going to your local park and spending a

couple of hours cleaning the park, while a couple of hours a week doesn』t sound

like much it will make a great difference for the animals of that park. Do your

part to make this world a better place.

所以，任何動物放生前，都會經過一個測驗。飼養員會將動物的的生存場所模擬成野外環境，食物將會被隱藏在這片區域，所以動物必須學會如何捕獵。如果被放生的動物屬於捕獵型的，則小型的嚙齒動物將被用來作為獵物。在這個過程中，最難的一部分要屬，減少與人類的接觸。因此人類不得不進行偽裝，打扮成動物同類的樣子或者用木偶來餵食動物。雖然在外人眼裡看起來相當奇怪，但事實證明這一舉措是有效得，動物就不會印刻人類的行為。（還記得第二十一期中，動物行為學中的印刻現象嗎？不記得的話，趕緊溫故哦）

什麼時候動物才能被放回野外呢？

當動物被放回野外時，事情還沒有結束，自然中發生的任何事物，都有連鎖反應，最有名的就是黃石公園中狼的案例。狼由於頻繁被獵，在黃石公園裡接近滅絕，於是保護組織介入，保護狼群使其數量增加至可以回到野外公園的狀態。當然為了避免狼群再次遭到同樣的境遇，於是對當地的捕獵情況進行了控制，於是狼群數量得到了保護與提升，但是該地區的麋鹿數量卻急劇減少。由於狼群大量捕殺麋鹿，麋鹿只能不斷遷徙至安全的區域。這個連鎖反應正如，生長在某一區域的植物被特定的動物所食，於是動物就在此安家，甚至改變了河流的流向。隨著新的物種進入某些區域，甚至有可能改變當地整個生態圈。

事實上，存在許多組織能夠讓你為動物做些什麼。這期我們將例舉一些最棒的組織，並介紹他們主要幫助哪類動物。其中一些組織並不需要你的捐款，只是需要你的陪伴，能夠花幾個月幫助它們更好得適應野外環境。

國際犀牛基金會

這個組織已經持續保護犀牛超過25年，主要在亞洲與非洲展開救援。他們始終為了防止犀牛被獵殺而行動著，保護的犀牛類別，主要是：

蘇門答臘犀牛、爪哇犀牛、印度犀牛、黑犀、白犀

世界野生動物基金會

這個組織是世界最有名的組織之一，因為它保護的對象是全世界的動物。他們的努力使大量的動物回到了自己的棲息地，為海洋生物凈化了生活環境。該組織的願景就是：為保護同一個地球上動物的未來而奮鬥，努力為這個擁擠的星球提供解決方案。

潛水協會基金：

這是一個保護海洋生物的組織，並且已經誕生超過20年。這裡介紹其中的兩項：
