Parents in rising numbers are considering teaching their children at home rather than sending them to school(背景). While this trend is applauded by a number of parents, I am, however, convinced that both parents and children suffer more than they benefit from home education(觀點).

Admittedly, there are multiple virtues of children receiving education at home(主題句). The most significant one is that a tailor-made teaching plan could be formulated so as to give full play to children』s potential(idea 1). Being fully aware of what their kids』 strengths and weaknesses are, parents are able to assist them in improving their academic performance in a targeted way(why). Another advantage is that parents could be saved from travelling to pick up or drop off their children at school(idea 2). Squeezing time to bring them to school always places a great burden on two-income families, in particular(why). These two reasons may explain why more parents are deciding to take on the role of teachers themselves(summary).

However, I would argue that home education exerts enormous adverse impacts on children and parents as well(主題句). The foremost problem is that the communication ability is put at risk due to a lack of opportunities to interact with peers(idea1). As a result, children would feel increasingly isolated from the outer world(so). In addition, parents would have to juggle between work and teaching(idea 2). Gradually, the resulting exhaustion would take a toll on the family, stoking fear and quarrels(so). Therefore, considering the potential risks, home education seems not a wise choice(summary).

In conclusion, while a group of parents are extolling the virtues of home education, I believe that families tend to lose more than they gain from it(觀點重述). Parents would be advised to cautiously weigh the pros and cons in line with the actual situation before they make a final decision(advice).
