Use experience for experiments to achieve expectation——英語押韻例析

2017年的最後一天，從中國日報微博摘下這個句子：

Past is experience, present is experiment, and future is expectation. Use your experience for your experiments to achieve your expectation.

大意是，過去是經歷，現在是實驗，將來是期許。把你過去的經歷用於你現在的實驗以實現對未來的期許。experience、experiment和expectation三個詞不僅準確地表達了過去、現在和將來的最本質的特點，而且均以expe開頭，均發/iksp/音，這是英語中押韻的一種類型——押頭韻。再如：

1. change, chance and challenge 變化、機遇和挑戰
2. forgive and forget 原諒，遺忘
3. Beauty and the Beast 美女與野獸
4. trick or treat 不請客就搗亂（萬聖節習俗）
5. a war of wits and words 才智與語言的交鋒

另一種常見的押韻形式是押尾韻，如：

1. from fears and tears to love and prove. 從恐懼和眼淚到愛和證明。（莎士比亞）
2. Love when you are ready, not when you are lonely. 準備好了再愛，不要因為孤獨而愛。
3. Beast of East meets Best of West. 東部野獸遭遇西部最強。（NBA解說詞）
4. A good beginning makes a good ending. 好的開始成就好的結束。
5. East or west, home is best. 金窩,銀窩不如自己的狗窩。
