Sketchy neighbourhood

If something is sketchy, it does not have many details, incomplete, or roughly outlined, just like the rough/unfinished drawing or painting.

In skateboarding, sketchy means some tricks not done well, or "sloppy landing". Now commonly used as "uncertain, unfriendly, creepy, unsafe".

you are not sure but just suspicious about the safety of the neighborhood; if you are sure about that, you call it the bad neighborhood or rough neighborhood.

You can also say sketchy hotel, sketchy person, sketchy club etc.

PS: Sloppy work or activities are the ones done in a careless or lazy manner. Sloppy movie is romantic or full of emotions.

PPS: Creepy is to say someone or something that makes you nervous or very uncomfortable.
