What is a Subject? 主語

每個句子都有一個主語 : Alan is coming. 問自己，誰來了 Alan。

"Alan" 就是這個句子的主語，他在做一些事情。

What is an Object? 賓語

I like chocolate. 問自己，你喜歡什麼 chocolate

chocolate 就是這個句子的Object。

What is a Predicate? 謂語

Mary is cooking dinner. Mary在幹什麼呢？ cooking

is cooking 就是 predicate ，謂語。 屬於這個動詞的部分都是謂語，所以謂語可能只有一個詞，也可能由多個片語成，如 is cooking, was cooking 等。

要造一個句子，順序就是 Subject – Predicate – Object

如

I see you.

He catches the ball.

注意：

1， 時間time 和地點 place通常放在句子最後 。 I live in Beijing .

2, 如果你要強調時間或地點，就放在句首。 Now I am going.

3, Adverbs of frequency 表示頻率的 副詞，經常放在動詞前面

He always comes late.

4, 3的例外情況 修飾Be時，放在Be的後面。

He is always late.
