在職業球員時期，Allen Iverson總是籃球護具（accessory）潮流的開路先鋒（pioneer）。在2000-01年賽季，Iverson 一直飽受右手肘（elbow）的滑囊炎（bursities）之苦，為了在不動手術（surgery）的情況下繼續打球，他開始在自己的右手臂戴上白色的壓迫綁帶。這個綁帶的想法來自於當時費城76人隊訓練師Lenny Currier。他說服Iverson採用了這個方式。

這個醫療用品很快地在賽季內變成了一種必備的流行護具。經營運動服飾的Under Armour提供了最新款的尼龍袖套（sleeve）給Iverson使用，且還有多種顏色可選擇，不論 Iverson穿什麼顏色的球衣都可以搭配。Iverson真的很喜歡這個產品，且在他之後的球員生涯也一直穿戴著。

Allen Iverson was always a pioneer in basketball accessory trends when he played professional ball. In the2000-01 season, Iverson wassuffering from bursitis on hisright elbow. In order to avoid surgery andcontinue playing, he started to wear awhite compression bandage stretched overhis right arm. This brilliant idea came fromthe 76ers trainer Lenny Currier, who persuadedIverson to try out this solution.

This medical item soon became the seasons "must-have」 fashionaccessory. Under Armour, asportswear company, provided newly made nylon sleeves to Iverson in multiple choices of color,so they would match whateveruniform Iverson was wearing.Iverson really loved this product andwore it for the rest of his career.

Today, nearly half of the NBA players haveworn a shooting sleeve in games. Mostof these players havent even had anelbow problem; they just believe the"Iverson sleeve" is a good-looking accessory.Perhaps Currier should patent theidea.
