Abby: Hi, Avery, thanks for joining me. Would you like to briefly introduce yourself first?

Avery: Hi, my name is Avery. Im 9 and Im in 3rd grade.

Abby: Avery, a lot of my Chinese friends would love to know about your school day. Can you describe how your school day looks like?

Avery，很多我的中國朋友都想了解一下你們的校園生活。你能介紹一下你的校園生活是怎麼樣的嗎？

Avery: Yes. I go to school at 8am, and then our class starts at 810am, and then we have a 10 minutes break and we get everything ready for school, and then at 820am we start our day with morning meeting. We greet each other and share something about ourselves.

Avery: It depends on activities.

Abby: What do you do after morning meeting?

Avery: After morning meeting, the teacher will read to us. After reading, we will have our math class. This month, we do fractions for math class. We will have our snack/recess at 10am for about 10minutes after math class. We will eat our snacks and go play on the playground.

早會後，老師會帶我們閱讀。閱讀完後，我們會有數學課，這個月數學課的內容是分數。上完數學課後，在早上10點，我們會有課間休息，10分鐘吃零食，出去外面操場上玩10分鐘。（這裡開始我以為是吃零食和課間休息一起總共10分鐘，後來在她介紹午餐和午休的時候才搞清楚原來snack和recess是兩個不同的項目）

Abby: So what do you do after your snack/recess?

課間休息之後你們做什麼呢？

Avery: We will have our special, which is different every day. On Monday, we will have music. On Tuesday, we will have library. On Wednesday, we will have chorus. On Thursday, we will have gym which is my favorite, and on Friday, we will have art.

我們會有專業課，每天都不一樣。周一的專業課是音樂，周二是圖書館，周三是合唱，周四是我的最愛體育課，周五是藝術課。

Abby: What do you do for music class?

音樂課上你們做些什麼？

Avery: We will play games and sing.

我們玩遊戲，唱歌。

Abby: So, hmmm, Wednesday right? You have chorus, thats when you sing as a group?

那周三你們有合唱課，是不是指你們一個群體一起唱歌？（chorus的中文翻譯意思很明顯，但是英文估計很多人都不是很熟悉，因此我就特意問了一下，以跟音樂課上的唱歌區分）

Avery: Yes.

是的。

Abby: Thats awesome. Im really curious. What do you do for your library class?

太棒了。我很好奇，圖書館課上你們都做些什麼？

Avery: What we are working on in our library class right now is were trying to stop cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is when people bully on the computer, and we are writing a script on the computer to stop cyberbullying and then were gonna make a video and send it to the website, so people can stop cyberbullying.

我們目前的圖書館課上的主題是我們嘗試停止網路暴力。網路暴力是指人們在網路上使用暴力。我們正在電腦上編寫一個停止網路暴力的劇本，寫好之後我們會做一個視頻，然後我們會把這個視頻發到網上，以呼籲人們停止網路暴力。（她說的比較簡單，如果不了解整個故事會比較難知道她真正要表達的意思，因此我的中文翻譯稍微潤色了一下）

Abby: Nice. Thats really meaningful work. So gym is your favorite, you must do something really interesting in your gym class. Can you tell me about it?

真好，你們在做的工作很有意義。體育課是你的最愛，我想你們肯定在體育課上做一些很有趣的事情。你能跟我說說嗎？

Avery: Yeah. Sometimes we do basketball. We are working on our dribbling. Also, we are doing some obstacle courses. We crawl under stuff, you have to go over stuff and you have to climb and sometimes you even have to jump. Very fun.

可以。有些時候我們會打籃球，目前我們在學習怎麼運球。同時，我們還會做一些越障訓練。我們會在障礙物下爬行，越過障礙物，攀爬障礙物等等，有些時候你甚至還需要跳躍，特別好玩。

Abby: That sounds fun. Thats why you love it. What do you do in your art class?

聽起來也很好玩。這也是為什麼你喜歡體育課吧！藝術課上你們都做些什麼呢？

Avery: Sometimes, we will paint, or we will draw, and in special occasions, we will make things out of play-doh for our parents.

有時，我們會用顏料繪畫，或者畫畫。（paint一般指用顏料填充已有的圖畫或者用顏料畫油畫，draw一般指用鉛筆或其他筆以線條描繪的畫）在特殊的時候，我們會用彩色橡皮泥為我們的父母製作一些東西。

Abby: Can you describe a project that you already made?

你能描述一個你做過的項目嗎？

Avery: For Mothers Day, we made a rose and then we are going to give it to our moms for Mothers Day. My rose is pink and purple and its glittery with green leaves. She is gonna love it.

為了母親節，我們每人做了一朵玫瑰準備送給我們的媽媽作為母親節禮物。我的玫瑰是粉色和紫色的，它有綠葉襯托並閃閃發光。我媽媽將會特別喜歡它。

Abby: Im sure she will love it. So after the special, what do you do?

Avery: It depends on what day it is. On Tuesday, usually, we finish up the math lesson from the morning, and then we will have lunch/recess.

Abby: How long is your lunch/recess?

午餐/午休一般有多長時間？

Avery: They are both 20 minutes long.

Abby: They are both 20 minutes. So you mean you have 20 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes for recess so you can play outside?

都是20分鐘，所以你的意思是你們有20分鐘吃午餐，之後再有20分鐘午休出去外面操場上玩？

Avery: Yeah. After lunch/recess, we will have quiet time, thats when we just calm our bodies down, and then after quiet time, we will pack up our lunch stuff.

Abby: Do you have more classes in the afternoon?

Avery: Yeah. Someday its science and someday its word work. Word work is when we practice writing our words. We will end our day around 235pm and then we will go home.

有的。有些天我們有科學課，有些天是寫字課。寫字課上我們會練習書寫我們學到的字。我們的放學時間在下午2點35左右，然後我們就可以回家了。
