學習本土英語人士表達

很多情況下，中國人學習英語更多的是以學習正式的書面英語表達為基礎的，不論是學校教學還是課外的英語學習培訓班。因為更多的目的是為了出國留學、移民或者商務往來合作。這樣的英語適用場合更多的是以官方形式呈現的，很多人英語可以學習的很好，但是未必能夠像本土英語人士一樣隨心隨心性地道的陳述自己想表達的。現在教搭夥兒如何把自己的英語練習的跟本土生長在英語國家的人士一樣。

1、中文時常有一句話「夾著尾巴做人」，其實是要求做人做事低調謙卑，不惹是非。

英語： Behave yourself (請檢點一點，行為規矩些)------- 夾著尾巴做人

Wait, you might be thinking, these strategies dont tell you how to deal with your difficult in-laws-- they tell you how to behave yourself. 等等。 你也許會想，這些策略並沒有告訴我對付棘手的姻親們的辦法，它只是講了如何約束自己。

2、中文表達事情「水落石出」，事物真相流露展現出來。

英語 ：說出秘密，真相浮出水面------- Let the cat out of the bag

I had better let the cat out of the bag at once and record my opinion that the character of the English is essentially middle class. 我最好一開始就說出秘密，講述我對英國中產階級特徵的理解。

3、中文形容想要做能力範圍之外的事情，自不量力

英文：試圖做力所不及的事，自不量力 ---------try to sweep back the Atlantic with a broom

Trying to sweep back the Atlantic with a broom , undoubtedly is a foolish action.

以卵擊石自不量力無疑是愚蠢的行為

4、中文形容顏色黑白分明，黑白顏色交錯間隔，黑白條紋相間

英文 ：黑白相間---------A bird Painted of night and day

The agitating bird, painted of night and day, was making aqueer noise and flirting one wing, as if trying to attract attention. 這隻羽毛黑白相間的鳥兒躁動不安，正發出一種奇怪的聲音，搖晃著一隻翅膀，彷彿在設法引起注意。

5、中文形容某聲音非常單調乏味，惹人煩躁，老是一種調調，形成噪音

英文：老是一種乏味枯燥的調調 ，噪音單調-------one-toned

英文： 慾望強烈的想要得到滿足的 ，垂涎欲滴--------make water come into one』s mouth

Besides, they were too beautiful – the pair of pumps , so inexpressibly slim, the patent leathers with cloth tops, making water come into one』s mouth. 況且，那些靴子太漂亮了，那雙輕舞靴細長的難以想像，那雙布面黑漆靴也讓人直咽口水。

7、中文形容人老了精力氣力仍舊很好，寶刀未老，老當益壯

英語：形容老當益壯，寶刀未老 -----------green old age

From the appearance, we can see that the old man is still in a green old age. 從外表看，我們能看得出這位老人仍然精神矍鑠。

He has occupied a couple of years of green old age in writing memories of himself. 他在老年健壯的時候花了一兩年功夫寫回憶錄。

8、中過開放「二胎」以來，引發一陣新生兒產生潮流，引發「嬰兒潮」

英文 ：同時期大量嬰兒出生，嬰兒潮------- baby boomer

9、中文形容兩種事物有著根本屬性的區別和差異，跟不不相同

英文：從本質上是不同的、本質區別 ----------(as) different as chalk from cheese

The two are seemingly similar. However, once you have read the book, you』ll find them as different as chalk from cheese. 這兩樣看似相近，然而一旦你讀了這本書，你就明白這兩者本質上是不同的。

10、中文形容看到某事物感到驚奇錯愕，使人瞠目結舌

英語 ：使某人驚愕，使某人目瞪口呆------------ make someone open his eyes

The news of the wars makes people open their eyes. No one could have foreseen what was happening yesterday. 關於戰爭的消息令人瞠目結舌，沒人能預料到昨天發生的事情
