標誌詞 - 邏輯混亂的救命稻草

邏輯標誌詞在雅思寫作中的重要程度大家都知道。人人也都能從表並列的 Furthermore 背到錶轉折的 However 再到表因果的 Therefore 再到表結果的 As a result

他們重要嗎？毋庸置疑，重要之極。但同學們可能慢慢會發現，這些連接詞看似覆蓋了所有邏輯，卻不能真正幫你解決問題。

你背熟了所有的連接詞，寫出的句子仍然是晦澀的。

很大程度上是因為不會用另一類標誌詞

so (such) ... that ... , too ... to ..., not ... but..., not only ... but also..., either...or..., neither...nor..., rather than, instead, instead of, rather ...

很多同學會覺得，這些搭配我們從小學到大，有什麼了不起的。可是，從小學到大就會用了嗎？

比如：

Workers will be under pressure and face fierce competition, which prevent them from paying attention to their health.

這一句想說的是，城市生活傷害健康：人們面對巨大壓力和激烈競爭，顧不上自己的健康。

是不是有點彆扭。如果加個such ... that ...

Living in the city, people work under such high pressure and face such fierce competition that they often pursue success at the expense of health/或者 that they often overlook all warning signals about their own health

邏輯會清晰很多，因為用such... that...強調出了壓力大，競爭激烈和健康問題之間的因果關係

再比如：

Because of frequent alterations in vocations and settlements, people can hardly mix with colleagues and neighbors for a long time and may lack in-depth understanding with each other.

這一段話講的是因為常換工作常搬家，很難和周圍人建立起來穩定的關係。我建議換成 too ... to ... 結構會清晰很多。

People sometimes change jobs and settlements too often to make the acquaintance of persons around, let alone to develop a close friendship with them.

再再比如：

Blind people and people who are driving cannot get information without radio.

這裡講的是相較於報紙，其它媒體在傳達信息方面的優勢。這裡可以添加一個not...but...的改進版，讓邏輯更清晰。

Radio --- not newspaper --- is the main source of news for blind people and those who are driving.
