1. "Syd"指Syd tha Kyd，她是Frank多年的好友，兩人也都曾是Odd Future的一員。現為TheInternet成員。當時，Syd的家是Odd Future成員的主要活動地點之一。另，據Tyler,The Creator回憶，Frank曾常常駕著「一輛好車」帶著Odd Future的成員到處兜風 ( "Iremember Frank had a nice ass car and would always take us places" )，而Frank本人對BMW這個牌子也情有獨鍾（"Nostalgia,ULTRA"的封面就是一輛BMW）。

2."waves"應指一種髮型，好的"waves"從頭頂看下去應給人一種"dip"的感覺，即「波紋」由頭頂一層層「下沉」。Frank借髮型這件小事指代自己過去曾諸事不順。

3. 此處可有不同解讀。a, 如今兩人的感情已不可能再繼續下去，如同已被定為犯罪行為的象牙販賣一樣。b,象牙曾被作為製作吸食毒品的奢侈器具的原料，兩人曾憑毒品度過許多時光，而象牙是那段生活里的一個物象；如今象牙已被禁止販賣，那些曾經的時光也隨之被封鎖了，不可再尋。
