稻粱求未足，

a. You are always short on the needy rice,

薏苡謗何頻。

白話譯文

當年有位洒脫狂放之人名叫李白，人稱謫仙。

看到他落筆，風雨為之感嘆；看到他的，鬼神都為之感動哭泣。

從此李白之名震動京師，以前的困頓失意自此一併掃除，並被玄宗召入朝廷任翰林；

他那驚天地、泣鬼神的詩篇必將萬古流傳。

他陪玄宗泛舟，一直到很晚，最後被皇帝賞賜錦袍。

玄宗經常召見李白，李白頗受寵信。

後來他因受奸人誣陷而被賜金放還，途中與我相遇。

李白既沒有隱藏自己的遠大志向，又能在受寵和被放逐的不同境遇中自保。

我與他相遇後，李白非常理解我的洒脫不羈，我也十分欣賞他的坦蕩胸懷。

我們夜裡在梁園飲酒起舞，春季則在泗水縱情吟唱。

雖然才華超群卻無用武之地，雖然道德崇高卻無人理解。

雖然才智堪比東漢禰衡，但命運卻如窮困失意的原憲。

李白投靠永王肯定是生活所迫，有人傳說他收了永王的重金，這實屬造謠。

但是他卻因此被流放，長期漂泊。

幾年之間屢遭禍患，心中必然悲傷。

蘇武最終返回漢廷，夏黃公難道會為暴秦做事嗎？

遭受君主冷遇，李白也曾上書為自己辯護。

如果當時事理難明，就讓李白服罪，那麼，現在誰又能將此事上報朝廷呢？

晚年時，李白猶自吟詩不輟，希望他早日康復，多作好詩。

不要埋怨皇帝寡恩，而要上書朝廷，了解事情的真相。
