寫在前面：

小丑說，看看我，我可以用手走路，我可以站在球上；

小猴子說，看看我，我可以在自行車上跳來跳去；

小丑希望在自己的生日時能有一輛自行車。

於是在他生日的時候，

「火車」送給他一輛自行車。

小丑在新的自行車上跳來跳去，

但是他摔下來了，小丑又試了一次又一次都摔下來了。

「火車」想，我必須幫助小丑...

小朋友們做事情不要輕易放棄，要有再試一次的勇氣。

「Look at me!」

the little clown says to the dolls and monkey.

"I can do tricks.I can walk on my hands.I can stand on a ball."

小丑對娃娃們和猴子說：

「看著我，我會耍雜技，

我會用手來走路，我會踩在皮球上。」

"Look at me!"says the monkey.

He hops on his bike."

I wish I had a bike,

"the clown says."

My birthday is coming.

I hope I can get a bike."

猴子說：「看著我。」他跳上自行車。

小丑說：「我多希望我有輛自行車呀，

我的生日就要到了，我希望能得到一輛自行車。」

Soon it is his birthday.

Yes!

The clown gets a new bike from the train.

很快他的生日就到了。

是的。

小丑從火車那裡得到了一輛嶄新的自行車。

The clown jumps on the bike.

But off he falls.

So the clown tries again.

Oops!

He falls off the bike again.

小丑跳上了自行車，但是掉了下來，

因此，他又試了一次。哎呦，

他又一次從自行車上掉了下來。

The clown is not hurt. But he starts to cry."I cannot ride.I do not like my bike," says the clown.And off he runs.

小丑沒有受傷，但是他哭了。

他說「我不喜歡自行車。」然後跑開了。

"I must help the clown." says the train.And off she goes. Chug,chug.She looks by the barn.Is the clown there?No!「火車」說：「我必須得幫助小丑。」她去了，咔嚓、咔嚓，她看了看倉庫周圍「小丑在那兒嗎？」沒有。

Chug,chug.She looks by the circus tent.Is the clown there?No.咔嚓、咔嚓，她看了看圓形馬戲帳篷。「小丑在那兒嗎？」沒有。

At last!There is the clown——by the trees on a swing.The clown is still sad.最後，她發現小丑在森林裡的鞦韆上，他仍然很傷心。

"Do not feel bad," the train tells the clown."It takes time to learn to ride a bike.

Try again and say

I think I can.

I think I can."「不要傷心，學會騎自行車需要花費時間的。」「火車」告訴小丑，「再試一次，說我想我能行，我想我能行。」

The clown gets on his bike."I think I can,"he says,over and over,Yes!The clown is riding his bike."Look at me!" says the clown.小丑跨上自行車，他反覆地說「我想我能行」。

是的。

小丑能騎自行車了，小丑說：「看我。」

"Happy birthday!"says the dolls,

the monkey,and the train.

And then they all eat the cake!娃娃們、猴子和「火車」一起說：「生日快樂！」然後他們一起吃了蛋糕。
