學習英語的一個實用小工具

GoldenDict是一款非常好用的詞典軟體，然而很多使用者可能會忽略它的一個非常重要的功能——「全文搜索」功能。

• 使用方法

依次點擊 編輯→詞典→群組→添加群組，這裡我將這個群組命名為「雙解詞典」，將朗文、劍橋、牛津、柯林斯雙解詞典和牛津英語搭配詞典移入該群組，點擊「確定」。

在主界面的「查找於：」後面選擇「雙解詞典」群組。

• 搜索示例

一.搜索「無能為力」

試列其中幾例：

1. I cant accept that theres nothing we can do.
   我不相信我們無能為力了。
2. There was nothing we could do about it - the situation was out of/beyond/outside our control.
   對此我們無能為力——事態已失控。
3. Its natural to feel helpless against such abuse.

   對這種虐待感到無能為力是自然的。

4. Emergency services seem impotent in the face of such a disaster.
   面對這種災難，應急服務機構似乎無能為力。
5. They felt powerless in the face of disaster.
   在災難面前他們感到無能為力。

二.搜索「脫穎而出」

試列其中幾例：

1. Two main candidates are emerging as contestants for the presidency.
   兩位主要候選人最終脫穎而出成為總統職位的有力競爭者。
2. The factor that distinguishes this company from the competition is customer service.
   使這家公司從競爭中脫穎而出的因素是它的客戶服務。
3. She wants to get ahead in her career.
   她想在事業上脫穎而出。
4. Once she became a prosecutor, she quickly established herself as a masterful trial lawyer.

   她一成為原告律師就很快脫穎而出，成為一名能掌控局面的法庭辯護律師。

5. For the lucky few, theres the chance of being plucked from obscurity and thrown into the glamorous world of modelling.
   只有極少數幸運兒才有機會從籍籍無名中脫穎而出，進入光鮮亮麗的模特圈。
6. What had Cutter done to make him stick out from the crowd?
   卡特做了些什麼，讓他從眾人之中脫穎而出？
7. The only way to come out on top is to adopt a different approach.
   脫穎而出的唯一途徑就是採用一種不同的方法。
8. a short story that stands out as a brilliant piece of writing
   一篇脫穎而出的短篇小說傑作

• 「英英詞典」群組

同樣，可參照上面的方法建一個「英英詞典」群組，把一些例句比較多的英英詞典移入此群組。英英詞典中Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English、Cambridge Advanced Learner』s Dictionary和Merriam-Websters Advanced Learners English Dictionary例句最多。這樣就建立了一個獨特的語料庫，可用來檢驗自己寫得是否地道。

總結：「全文搜索」功能主要有兩方面的作用：1.當你有不會的表達時可通過搜到的例句結合其語境找到合適的表達。2.作為一個強大的語料庫，可用來確認自己寫的句子是否地道。而且它支持正則表達式，還有很多功能需要自己不斷摸索。
