一張讓人心碎的照片後的感人故事，丹麥女子被評為感動全球年度人物

日前，德語雜誌《Ooom》評選2016最鼓舞人心的百大人物（worlds most inspiring people），一名丹麥護工（care worker）擊敗了奧巴馬、小李子、教皇等人物，登上榜首。

這名丹麥護工名叫安雅·林格倫·洛文（Anja Ringgren Lovén），是非洲兒童救助教育發展基金會（African Children』s Aid Education and Development Foundation, ACAEDF）的創始人。

看完下面的故事，你就知道為什麼她會被評為今年感動全球的人物了。

一個關於「希望」的故事

今年1月，當這照片出現在互聯網上時，全世界的網友都為之心碎。

The heartbreaking picture shows a naked, starving child being given water by Anja Ringgren Lovén, a humanitarian volunteer worker.

在這張揪心的照片中，人道主義志願工作者洛文正在給一個赤裸、飢餓的孩子喂水。

The 2-year-old boy from Nigeria had been abandoned by his family because they thought he was a witch.

這個奈及利亞的男童才2歲，他被原生家庭拋棄，因為父母認為他是個巫童。

When Anja Lovén first laid eyes on the toddler walking naked through the dusty streets of south-east Nigeria, he was riddled with worms and so weak he could barely stand.

當洛文第一次看到這個孩子時，他正赤身走在奈及利亞東南部塵土飛揚的街道上，他體內長滿了蟲子，虛弱得幾乎無法站立。

The boy had spent eight months fending for himself and living off scraps.

當時他已經被拋棄了8個月，無人照料，靠吃殘羹冷飯為生。

洛文回憶當時的情景說：

"He was the size of a little baby, my whole body froze."
「他的體型只有嬰兒那麼大，我整個人都驚呆了。」
"I became a mother myself 20 months ago and I was thinking of my own son when I saw the boy. For me it was clear at that moment that I would fight with all my strength for him to survive."
「我自己在20個月前剛當上媽媽，看著這個男孩，我就想起了自己的兒子。那一刻我就非常清楚，我要拼盡全力讓他活下來。」

She then wrapped up the disorientated toddler in a blanket and took him to the nearest hospital for treatment.

她用毯子裹住這個迷茫不知所措的孩子，把他送到最近的醫院接受治療。

When the boy reached the hospital, he was given medication to remove the worms from his stomach and daily blood transfusions to incorporate more red blood cells into his body.

醫院給小男孩吃了打蟲葯，每日輸血，為體內增加紅細胞。

Lovén took him in and gave him a name to give him the strength to recover: Hope.

然後，洛文收養這個孩子，還給了他取了一個名字，希望（Hope），給予他康復的力量。

她說：

「Hope is like a son to me. Like the rest of our children I love him more than words can describe.」
Hope就像我的兒子一樣。言語無法表達我有多愛他，就像愛我其他的孩子一樣。
「He got the best treatment we could give him, and everyday my team and I was hoping that he would survive... Very quickly we discovered that Hope was a very strong boy. A little fighter.」
我們為他提供了最好的治療，每天我和我的團隊都希望他能活下來……很快我們發現Hope是一個非常堅強的男孩。他是個小戰士。

Her faith paid off, and the little boys recovery since has been nothing short of a miracle.

她的信念終獲成功，小男孩的迅速恢復就像是個奇蹟。

Just eight weeks later, Hope is unrecognisable. He has gained weight and has been pictured smiling and playing with other children.

僅僅兩個月後，Hope已經像變了一個人。他長胖了，很多照片中，他會和別的小朋友開心笑著，和他們玩耍。

洛文說：

「To see him sit and play with my own son is without a doubt the greatest experience of my life.
看著他坐在那兒和我的兒子玩耍，絕對是我生命中最美好的經歷。
「I simply do not know how to describe it in words. This is what makes life so beautiful and valuable.」

我不知道如何用語言來形容，但就是這些讓生命變得如此美麗和珍貴。

變賣家產到非洲拯救「巫童」

其實，Hope只是洛文全力救助的許多孩子中的一個。

Three years ago, when Anja travelled to Africa from Denmark, for the first time she saw how children were being tortured for superstition in rural Nigeria.

三年前，洛文從丹麥前往非洲，那是她第一次看到奈及利亞農村的孩子們是如何受到迷信的折磨。

在接受《赫芬頓郵報》的採訪時，洛文說：

「I travelled alone to Nigeria where I met children who had been tortured and beaten almost to death because they were accused of being witches and therefore left alone on the street.」
我獨自一人來到奈及利亞，親眼見到那些被稱為「巫童」的孩子們，他們被折磨、毒打，幾乎喪命，然後被拋棄在大街上。

「What I saw were so barbaric and terrible and it left a deep impression on me.
我目睹的這些事情太野蠻殘酷，讓我無法忘記。

「That』s why I decided to sell everything I owned in Denmark to devote my time and life to help 『witch children』 in Nigeria.」
所以我下了這個決定，變賣我在丹麥的所有財產，把時間和生命都投入到幫助奈及利亞的「巫童」中。

With her partner, David, Anja now runs a children』s home for young people accused of witchcraft.

洛文和丈夫大衛專為這些孩子建起了一個兒童之家。

The couple, who have a two-year-old son, currently have 34 children living in their care, all of whom have been accused of witchcraft.

這對夫婦有一個兩歲的兒子，目前他們在照顧著34名被認為是「巫童」的孩子。

洛文想給這些被拋棄的孩子一個家：

「Being rejected by your own family must be the loneliest feeling a child can experience.」
被自己的家人拋棄一定是一個孩子能經歷的最孤獨的感覺。

Their organisation, ACAEDF, also works to ensure that all children in the southern Nigerian state of Akwa Ibom have the opportunity to go to school.

她創立的非洲兒童救助教育發展基金會也努力確保所有在奈及利亞南部阿誇伊博姆州的孩子都能有上學的機會。

因為「教育是破除迷信的關鍵」（education is the key in the fight against superstition）。

洛文說：

「We rescue and we give love and support to the vulnerable children accused of witchcraft in Akwa Ibom. But to put an end to superstition, exorcism and black magic performed by pastors and the so-called witchdoctors advocacy work must be carried out.」
我們救助當地那些被認為是「巫童」的無助兒童，給他們關愛和支持，但是要遏制當地牧師和所謂巫醫從事的迷信、驅魔、巫術，我們必須要多做教育宣傳工作。

如今，專門挖掘勵志故事的德語雜誌《Ooom》將洛文選為了2016年最鼓舞人心的百大人物之首。

該雜誌是這樣評價洛文的：

"Anja Ringgren Lovén is a beacon of hope and the most inspiring person of the year 2016. When she saw the starving child, she acted like a human being and became an inspiration for millions. Her sustained efforts to help the abandoned children of Nigeria gives us hope and encourages us to follow suit."

The outgoing US President Barack Obama was named second on the list. The jury said he stood for "peace, tolerance and freedom" and that, despite failures during his leadership including on Guantánamo, Syria and Iraq, "we will miss him anyway".

Pope Francis was named fourth, after the jury said his "humble" leadership had changed the Catholic Church for the better.
