If you have grit, youll keep trying to climb a rock wall no matter how many times you slip and fall.

之前有一位華裔心理學家在TED做了一個演講專門講grit, 她說她的研究表明, 決定人們成敗的最核心的一個因素不是智商或情商, 而是grit. 她覺得一個人的成長和教育中最最重要的就是學會grit, 有興趣的童鞋可以搜這個TED talk: Grit: the power of passion and perseverance

take agency over sth這個差不多, 說明不是個短語, 只是個搭配, 搭配的意思等於構成搭配的各個單詞意思之和

所以又回到agency這個單詞的意思, 我又把各種詞典翻了一遍, 感覺可能就是下邊這個意思

我覺得這個短語可以和另外一個短語對照著看by/through the agency of
