天用莫如龍，

a. Dragon-breed Emperor is best suited for the heavenly dynasty.

b. Nothing matches the dragon for working in heaven,

有時繫扶桑。

a. Sometimes he could be hindered by rebels from Fusang.

b. but sometimes they are tied to the Fusang Tree.

頓轡海徒湧，

a. Waves rage when Emperor』s authority is harnessed.

b. Halting their reins, the sea churns in vain,

神人身更長。

a. Generals with might of gods can overpower insurgents.

b. the god』s body is even taller.

性命苟不存，

a. Lives of these dissenters won』t last long,

b. If one』s life cannot be preserved,

英雄徒自強。

a. and their attempts to be heroes are all for naught.

b. the hero exerts his efforts in vain.

吞聲勿復道，

a. They should choke back their words and say nothing.

b. Swallow your voice, say nothing more,

真宰意茫茫。

地用莫如馬，

無良復誰記。

此日千里鳴，

a. These days voices of fine steeds are heard.

b. Today it whinnies, crossing a thousand leagues,

追風可君意。

a. Only Emperor』s will could get them gallop in full speed.

b. chasing the wind, it suits his lord』s purpose.

君看渥窪種，

a. His Majesty can see they are exceptional strains,

b. Just look at the Wowa breed,

態與駑駘異。

a. whose physical attributes distinguish them from substandard ones.

b. their manner differs from worn-out nags.

不雜蹄齧間，

a. Don』t mix them with those which kick and bite,

b. If you don』t mix them in with those that kick and bite,

逍遙有能事。

a. then they have a free rein to do great things.

b. moving easily, they can accomplish much.
