still和remain二選一即可，比如：

• Sth still remains controversial. 直接寫成Sth remains controversial.或Sth is still controversial.即可。
• It still remains unclear whether these effects result from …直接寫成It remains unclear whether these effects result from …或It is still unclear whether these effects result from …

兩個和criteria搭配的常見動詞

• Patients who met/fulfilled the criteria for (the diagnosis of) a disease. 這是兩個和criteria搭配的常見動詞

關於「分別」與「和」的英文表達誤區

「孕15d SD大鼠分別應用RU486和LPS誘導早產」這句話的英文表達常常出現以下問題：

• Pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (15 days of gestation) were treated with RU486 and LPS,respectively, to induce preterm birth.

出現問題的根源就是一看到「分別」就習慣性地用respectively，一看到「和」就習慣性地用and。

這裡的「分別」並非前後一一對應的情況，所以不能用respectively。關於respectively的使用原則可發送tip43和tip63查看或在菜單「經驗總結」里直接查看tip43和tip63。簡而言之，respectively的標準用法是：A and B were treated with a and b, respectively. 表示A和a對應，B和b對應。

這句話是指有的大鼠用RU486誘導早產，有的大鼠用LPS誘導早產，如果譯成and，會造成同時用這兩個物質誘導早產的感覺，實際上對於每一個大鼠只需選用其一。

正確的表達如下：

• Pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (15 days of gestation) were treated with RU486 or LPS to induce preterm birth.
