一句話翻譯分享（醫學類）（2）

例句選自重醫王燕老師的《醫學英語翻譯與寫作教程》2008年9月第一版 P33頁

Any chronic inflammatory liver disease has the potential to induce hepatocellular carcinoma, but the pathophysiologic process most commonly associated with the disease is cirrhosis, found in up to 80% of cases.

首先，單詞

1、chronic inflammatory liver disease 慢性炎症性肝病

2、hepatocellular carcinoma 肝細胞癌

3、pathophysiologic process 病理生理病變

4、cirrhosis 肝硬化

（1）基本屬於術語，個人覺得，口譯則背，筆譯則自行準備術語庫，即可。

（2）單詞太長怎麼辦，背詞根呀...如cirrhosis，cirrh(o)-和-sis/osis拆分記憶結合即可（此部分很枯燥······）。

然後句子分析

1、has the potential to...，可以看做片語，「有可能···」

2、中間半句可以拆「but / the pathophysiologic process / most commonly associated with the disease / is cirrhosis」，主幹部分其實很明確，「the pathophysiologic process is cirrhosis」，然後把後面的定語成分翻譯妥當即可

那麼書中譯文則可以參考：

任何慢性炎症性肝病都可能引起肝細胞癌，但與肝細胞癌相關的最為常見的病理生理病變則是肝硬化，高達80%的肝細胞癌病例都可見肝硬化。
