In many countries, more and more men are staying at home to look after their children when women work full-time. What are the reasons? Is it a positive or negative development?

題干中 more and more men are staying at home to look after their children 和 women work full-time是什麼關係？銜接詞是 and 還是 when ？

題干中使用的是 when

那麼，題目問的是

1. more and more men are staying at home to look after their children 和 women work full-time 發生的原因？

2. 當 women work full-time 時，more and more men are staying at home to look after their children 的原因？

答案是2. 這就是一個連詞的影響。

當然，這畢竟是考題回憶，回憶的人也許因為不在意，記錯一兩個單詞 (and or when)，就會讓題目的意思發生巨大的改變。我們無法保證這是100%的考試原題（99%的接近程度也可能有歧義），所以2017年12月14日雅思寫作考試的標準答案不一定是按照2來答題的。

既然拿到的題目使用了 when，英國老師的範文便是按照2來寫的。

One of the most significant reasons for the rise in stay-at-home dads over recent decades is that relatives are less likely to provide childcare than in the past. The last 30 years has witnessed a marked decline in the number of extended families living under the same roof. Grandmothers in particular used to take on babysitting and domestic duties to support mothers.

An additional relevant factor is the cost of professional childcare which, in industrialised nations, has risen sharply.
