兩個研討會的區別

symposium和seminar都是研討會，但二者有一定的區別。

symposium的參與者通常要上台作陳述（presentation），顯得更為正式，而seminar往往就是大家就一個問題進行討論，尤其是教授組織學生就某項研究課題進行研討。

還有一個詞colloquium，和symposium差不多，不過colloquium的學術性更強一些。

讓句意更明確緊湊一例

Age had significant influence on the self-reported anxiety symptom, while it had no significant influence on the self-reported general health status, but the self-reported general health status tended to become worse with the increasing age.

一個句子里既有while又有but，顯得結構啰嗦，句意不夠明確。由於第一句是針對anxiety symptom而言，後面兩句是針對general health status而言，所以可以用分號將第一句和第二、三句分開，同時第二、三句可以用從句讓結構更加緊湊。改動如下：

Age had significant influence on the self-reported anxiety symptom; it had no significant influence on the self-reported general health status, but which tended to become worse with the increasing age.

Interfere不是及物動詞，不要寫成interfere the function of，寫成interfere with the function of

兩個名詞搭配，考慮前面那個名詞是否可以形容詞化。比如：尺骨截骨術一般譯成ulnar osteotomy ，比 ulna osteotomy多一些；pubertal development比 puberty development多見。
