譯文 | What does the phrase "age like wine" mean?

當所有的葡萄酒倒進玻璃杯後，都看上去很相似，但品嘗起來卻會千差萬別，一款好的葡萄酒會隨著時間的變化而讓口感也變得成熟而精妙。一款年輕葡萄酒的口感上會存在著大量的酸度和苦味，但隨著時間的緩慢推移，酒液里的風味、香氣和顏色都會隨之改變。

而我們也像一款款葡萄酒那樣，會隨著時間的推移，我們的身體，情緒還有精神層面都會發生變化。時間會讓我們在成長的過程中經歷變得豐富、也會面對失敗、傷心還有抉擇，而這一切也會讓我們懂得理解和以一種最好的方式去把握和處理面對的一些周遭境遇。最終讓我們成為一個睿智而通達的人。

這應該就是我們所說的「age is wine」。

All wines look the same while pouring into the glass. But the tastes differ. A fine wine takes time to mature and to give a subtle taste. While young wines still contain a lot of acidity and a bitter taste, it improves age. That is, the flavour, aroma and colour changes.

Likewise we not only age physically, but also emotionally and mentally. We age through many experiences, failures, heart breaks and decision makings. With years we learn to understand and handle situations in a better way. We become wise and enlightened. And hence the term 「age like wine」.
