阿拉伯數字和（不）等式的使用要點

英文論文中常使用阿拉伯數字，但使用上也有一些注意要點。

1）阿拉伯數字不能放在句首

• 錯誤 12 parameters were selected for the experiment.
• 正確 Twelve parameters were selected for the experiment.

2）阿拉伯數字用於提供數據而非一般信息

• 錯誤 All 3 studies concluded that the mean temperature should be 30°C.
• 正確 All three studies concluded that the mean temperature should be 30°C.

（不）等式一般不放在句中：

• 錯誤：When the temperature > 30°C, this substance will be molten.
• 正確：When the temperature is higher than 30°C, this substance will be molten.
