Some people think parents should read or tell stories to their children. Others think parents neednt do that as children can read books or watch TV and movies by themselves. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

英國人的解析

Children learn how to relate to the world around them, first and foremost, on the basis of the relationships that they develop with their parents.孩子學習如何和周遭的世界發生聯繫，最初也是最重要的方法是，通過建立和發展他們與父母的關係。Reading stories is an excellent way for parents to show interest and affection in their children, enjoy quality time with them, and give them a model of how to communicate; in addition, a bedtime story every night can help children to develop a regular nighttime routine.父母展示對孩子的興趣和喜愛，有效享受跟孩子相處的時光，為孩子樹立與人交流的榜樣，讓父母讀故事就是一種非常棒的方式來達成。此外，每晚一個睡前故事，能夠幫助孩子形成有良好的就寢習慣。

Children can benefit from watching TV and movies by themselves; this kind of input can entertain children and stimulate their thinking processes and imaginations. However, without meaningfully sharing non-human forms of entertainment and education with their parents or other loving carers, after some time, children will grow tired and lose interest in them. Ultimately, human beings are not robots: we are designed to relate to each other and make sense of the world around us together. 孩子能夠受益於獨自看電視和看電影，這樣的輸入能夠給孩子娛樂，刺激他們的思考過程和激發他們能想像出的事物。然而，這些娛樂和教育的方式是不涉及他人的（自娛自樂），如果不跟父母或者其他照料自己的人進行分享，孩子經過一段時間後就會感到厭倦，失去興趣。歸根結底，人類不是機器，我們天生就要與人聯繫，一起去理解周遭的世界。

最後，談談我為什麼要做這個專欄

2017年初，我決定了開通自己的微信公眾號。過年放假的那一周，每天都在整理資料，填充公眾號需要的信息。我一邊做，一邊就意識到：這其實就像開了個網店，只是沒有開在某寶。

我的興趣喪失，但是偶爾突發奇想地會在公眾號更新一些自己教學的感受，引來了很多同學私底下的詢問。於是，之前一段時間，我更新了幾篇關於備考的文章。

慢慢地，我發現很難短時間內解決的學生「意識」上的問題，學生通過看相關的推文，能夠潛移默化地改變。

這些意識上的問題，其中之一是沒有批判性思維，所以我寫下了《批判性思維提升》專題；

本專題解決另一類問題，即學生常常說的「為什麼要出這樣的題」和「我就是想不到好的點」。

背景知識的積累，不是三天兩頭可以實現的。我們日常看新聞，看訪談節目，和知識面廣的朋友聊天，都在不斷補充背景知識。
