Task 1 of IELTS on Feb.10 2018

題目：

The graphs below show the size of the ozone hole over Antarctica and the production of three ozone-damaging gases from 1980 to 2000.

坡姐範文：

The graphs demonstrate the change of ozone-hole size over Antarctica and the emission of three different ozone-harmful gases from the years between 1980 and 2000.

Based on the first graph, the 20 years witnessed a rapid expansion of zone-hole size .Specifically ,with just approximately 400 thousand square Km in the beginning , its size gradually expanded until 1990 when it almost quadrupled . The next decade still saw a steady and dramtic rise ,reaching almost 4000 thousand square Km ,although a slight drop of 1000 thouand square Km appeared from 1990 to 1993 .

With regard to the chief culprit , three various poisonous gases were mentioned .In 1980 ,the largest amount of emissions (700million tonnes) originated fromCFC-11 ,while less than harlf of those ( about 30 million tonnes) from CFC-12 . Remaining for three years, production of CFC-11 became less and less ,withmerely a margin of it being released in 2000 .On the contrary ,CFC-12 dischargingexperienced a slow rise to nearly 60 million tonnes by the end of the period ,which was twice of that in 1980. Interestingly, no N2O was found to emit to ozone player in the first decade.However ,there was a noticeable climbing in the release of N2O at an accelerating rate in the last decade , overtaking that in CFC-11 in 1994 and arriving at roughly 40 million tonnes .

Overall,an obvious upward trend can be seen in terms of the size of ozone-hole .The three gases seriously destroyed ozone player ,in which rising CFC-12 and N2O were emitted and declining CFC-11 were producted .
