To Be A Product Manager

Today is very intense. Starting from the morning, I replied to our product director』s question in group chat, which leads to many problems. Judging from my answer, she followed up and asked me more questions.

It turned out we have some misunderstanding in communications.

The H5 sharing/recommendation page has been updated to a fully functional 360 degree video player, which requires more features including social and more.

This is probably the biggest mistake I make so far, totally misunderstood the group and working on something with the different purpose. But I』m happy this happens to me today, it』s great lesson for me and a reminder when I』m leading the product.

Challenges

I』m struggling expressing myself in the meetings today.

Our product team have a group meeting this Friday afternoon, talking about what we』ve done in this week and hopefully we can come into a conclusion on some topics, like VR lobby, cms and H5 video player wireframes.

My colleagues are really nice, even I make this silly mistake, they give me a lot of space learning and keep asking me questions to guide me figure out the purpose myself.

However, I』m a slow learner. If I』m in the environment which every one is better than me and more experienced, I prefer talking less and paying attention to what they say.

When they ask me for opinions, I still feel like carrying a heavy bag while expressing my ideas, which is not smooth. I will go back making a new feature list, see you next week.
