To Be A Product Manager | Day 13
Welcome to Day 13 of
To Be A Product Manager
Today is a little intense, I spend most of my time on researching sharing page and recommendation page of WeChat Html 5. As I said, I started with some WHY questions and really go deep to the root of the thing I』m working on. I feel like I』m on th right track. Because this process also gives me a lot of confidence, which convince me that what I』m doing is valuable, not only for me, but for others.
This means so much for me. As a kid, I just won』t spend time on things that I cannot see value. I want to make an impact and leave a legacy during my short stay in this infinite universe.
I also use some hand drawing to illustrate my idea about the interaction and layout in WeChat H5. I guess I always prefer hand drawing than those fancy softwares, as I draw down those layouts, little squares and circles, my brain is fast processing those design and pitching my original ideas to myself.
Why you are drawing this, not something else?
Why you put this button here, not somewhere else?
Is it simple enough? Are people going to love it, and shoot out 「hell yeah」?
Goals
- Finish sharing & recommendation page research
- Collect feedback from product director
- Prepare for product testing
Challenges
The product director gave me a lot of feedback based on my research today. She said she likes the way how I put those product into pieces and analyse every part of it. But this sharing & recommendation page research should be a complete plan that can even give to designers and developers, which means you have to be more specific about every detail on those pages.
The logic behind the sharing and recommendation page is more than what you see, you have to think more about diferent scenarios and how your product can handle those frequent bugs and problems when users are on your app.
If you cannot help users solve their problems when they open your app for the first time, they are never coming back.
Tomorrow, I will spend more time on different scenarios, and what kinds of words you should use on each function button, what will direct them to click here, or attract them to download your app when they see this sharing link on other social platform.
My name is Zake Zhang, a rookie VR product manager based in Shenzhen, China. I』m thinking what if I write daily product journal for 1000 days?
Thanks for reading! I really appreciate your time!
Warm Regards,
Zake
be so good they can』t ignore you.
