倒裝結構的翻譯方法：

恢復正常順序後直接翻譯

例1： Odd though it sounds（倒裝） ,cosmic inflation is a scientifically plausible consequence of some respected ideas in elementary-particle physics ,and many astrophysicists have been convinced for the better part of a decade that it is true.

建議

還原順序：Though it sounds odd .儘管他聽起很奇怪

plausible 似乎合理的 elementary-particlephysics基本粒子物理學

被動結構的翻譯原則：少用「被」字

首先可以採用主賓顛倒的方式翻譯，其次還能省略「被」字，直接轉化。但是有時候需要用「受到」，「得到」，「加以」，「得以」，「為....所」，「由.....來」，「是.....的」等結構翻譯。

例2：It leads the discussion to extremes at the outset ; it invites you to think that animals should be treated either with the consideration humans extend to other humans ,or with no consideration at all .

建議

被動句：animals should be treated

look on 旁觀——onlooker 旁觀者 pass by 路過——bypasser 過路人

set out 出發——outset 開始

invite 使 consideration 關心 extend to 對待
