當藝術碰上神經科學

重點是你用什麼姿勢在看它。

（我本來想配個搞笑圖...谷歌了「姿勢」這個詞...哎...）

我剛發現了一個與神經科學相關的藝術作品比賽。每年5月25號截止。

比賽叫 The Art of Neuroscience，網址在此：Home 。由荷蘭神經科學研究所舉辦的。

第一名有 1000 歐元的獎勵，五個入選者有 250 歐元。

重點是我覺得獲獎的都不太咋地。有人想組團嗎？

去年的勝利者是這個：

Jean-Christophe Billeter, "Choosey Female", University of Groningen, The Netherlands

hmmmm.... 我看了半天也沒搞懂這是什麼。求解。

入圍的幾位里，就這個我覺得還挺好看：

Oscar Seira Oriach, "Fall Landscape", Blusson Spinal Cord Center, Vancouver, Canada.

看起來有點像是脊髓切片？還是小腦的？不同顏色是不同的細胞？這名字去的很好，《秋景》。我倒是覺得這個比第一名好。

Gautam Agarwal, "Fabricated rhythm", Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme, Lisbon, Portugal & Nick Lally, Dept. of Geography, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA.

這個估計是腦電波的變形吧？這到底是什麼數據。可惜也沒什麼解釋。

沒得獎里的，反而有幾個深得我心。

"From the looks of it", by Bonnie Cutts

這是我最喜歡的，所以弄成了題圖。這個應該是有油畫作品。畫的感覺有些像用不同顏色染成的神經細胞。海馬區的？還是視網膜的？我覺得挺漂亮的啊，可能是因為大家覺得這個不是那種一眼就知道是什麼吧？

"Sunrise", by Gabriel Girard, Université de Sherbrooke, Canada

這個名字也取的好，《日出》。這應該是不同區域之間的connection mapping？從一個不同的視角來看的大腦，挺不錯的。讓我想起了IPHONE6S的廣告圖。

比賽要求是這樣的：

1. Submit your documents in a digital format through our site.
2. Include a title and description summarizing the content of your submission.
3. Include original data pertaining to the nervous system (of any species), or a neuroscientific concept.
4. Low resolution (≤ 300 dpi) submissions will be excluded from competing.
5. The participant(s) shall indemnify Art of Neuroscience, the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) against claims from third parties. In addition, in case (an alleged) infringement on third parties rights is made, (i) participants forfeit their right to an award or (ii) the organizer is entitled to reclaim an award which has already been given.
6. If an entry has been submitted elsewhere, it should be stated where. If a prize has been awarded list the type of award and date it was received.
7. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that permissions are obtained to use other peoples data and content and correct attributions are made where necessary.
8. The organizers retain the right to make a pre-selection of all accepted submissions.
9. In case of multiple authors, please specify your full names and affiliation(s) in the text accompanying your submission.
10. The organizers retain the right to use submissions digitally, in print or in exhibits, or reproduce submitted material in any other way.
11. Submissions will be judged for aesthetic value, originality, scientific value and reproduction quality.
