This picture is of Hiroshi Ouchi who was a worker in a uranium processing facility in Tokaimura which is North-East of Tokyo. His final state was the result of an accident in the facility in which he was exposed to 17 sieverts of radiation in the form of neutron beams. The really horrible thing is that he was kept in this state for three months until he died in 1999. His chromosomes were completely destroyed resulting in his skin falling of, him losing 20 litres of body fluid a day and organ failure. When he could speak he asked the doctors to kill him but they refused.
