To Be A Product Manager

It』s 1:30AM in the morning, and I』m sitting in front of my desk, reflecting what have I done yesterday. This is definitely not what I really intended to do at the very beginning, to push myself to take reflection at around 1AM, instead, this is what every individual should do right after their work hours, around 6PM.

The reason I come here today this late, is I was meeting(or you could say dating) the girl I came across on Tinder. And this is the third time we caught up for dinner together.

So if you are following this journal series, you probably know one of my side projects in May, is

to meet as many people as I can on these social apps, and figuring out why they are on this platform, and what they are looking for.
(I don』t believe everyone is there for hookups.)

And most girls I』ve met are looking for friendship, and maybe a serious relationship. I will write an article about this in details at the end of May.

What I Learn

When I got told I could find some colleagues help me with the SDK testing early this month, I was super happy. The reasons are:

1. I have options to pick the ones that interest me;
2. I don』t need to do some work myself, which saves me a lot of time.

Don』t get me wrong, normally I don』t like to create task for others, because they are the guys who benefit the most. If the project is somethings new, I』d love to tried it myself, practicing product sense as well as my sense for design.

Last week, I created a new task for one of our colleagues. I know exactly what I want, so tried to be specific in the descriptions and also shared with her some documents that might help her with the task.

After reviewing the document she did couples times, I』m really frustrated. She just cannot meet my needs and standard at all, which decrease productivity and confidence for both of us.

She』s thinking about why she cannot do it.
And I』m thinking about how can I help her.

Eventually I drafted a document myself and also shared with her. Hope this would help her understand what I mean. By the way, I found myself also not that clear on stressing target results and its user case scenerios. I should also work on that.
