1. 如何非常詳細地描述AFM的實驗結果?

In an effort to assess the stability and large-area uniformity of the PCDA self-assembled monolayer, the PCDA-coated epitaxial graphene sample was taken out of UHV to the ambient environment where AFM imaging was performed at multiple locations across the sample. On the as-deposited PCDA samples (i.e., preceding photopolymerization), the AFM images (Figure 5) show highly ordered stripes over the entire sample that share similarities with the previously discussed UHV STM images. In particular, the pitch of the stripes is found to be 7.3 ± 0.3 nm, which is in close agreement with the length of two adjacent PCDA molecules in the STM images.

2. 在文章中,AFM通常重在描述形貌和粗糙度的變化,也可以和其他的表徵手段相互佐證。由於在不同文章想要表達的觀點不同,不同文章的描述結果可能略有不同。下面總結一些比較常見的寫法供大家參考。

A. 形貌的變化

Fig. 5 presents the SEM image of the as-deposited V2O5 thin film (a) and the AFM topographic images of thin films at different stages of the first cycle: the pristine material (b), at the end of the discharge (1.5 V/Li)(c) and at the end of the charge (3.7 V/Li) (d). The AFM image of the as-deposited material exhibits tangled plates oriented in a direction perpendicular to the substrate, in good agreement with the SEM image revealing a porous thin film constituted of numerous tangled rods. This result is also consistent with the X-ray diagram displaying a preferential orientation with the c-axis perpendicular and the (a, b)-plane parallel to the substrate surface. The average size of plate sides (thickness) could be estimated to 80 nm (Table 4).

B. 粗糙度的變化

Figure 4 shows tapping-mode AFM images of MWNT thin films assembled at different pH conditions with increasing number of bilayers. All AFM images clearly show that MWNT thin films have an interconnected network structure with separated individual MWNTs, which have an average diameter of 15+5 nm. Root-mean-squared (rms) roughness increases with the number of bilayers, showing similar behavior for different pH conditions atthe beginning stages. However, assembly from pH 2.5 (+)/2.5 (-) shows a steep increase of rms roughness from 9 bilayers to 15 bilayers compared to other pH conditions. Images of pH 2.5 (+)/3.5 (-) condition were not shown because of the resemblance of topography with the pH 2.5 (+)/4.5 (-) condition.
