一步一步搞定雅思寫作（1）

這個系列是基於2016年的雅思寫作真題，比如這一次我就直接採用2016年9月10日的雅思寫作真題，把我自己去寫作文時候的步驟和思路盡量以文字的方式表述清楚，希望能給大家起到一定的示範作用，如有不當之處，敬請留言交流~

如何提高雅思寫作成績？ - 季元的回答

首先，請各位讀讀題：

The customs and traditional ways of behavior are no longer relevant to the modern world. So it is not worth keeping them. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

應該說這個題目讀完題之後，我的第一反應就是「這不算簡單的題目」，傳統文化的題目在雅思之中屬於少數派題目，一年考不了幾次，最近四年關於傳統文化（語言）的題目加起來也沒有超過5次，所以並不太算是同學們能精心準備到的題目。

那麼當我看完題目之後，我做的第一件事情並不是直接去想理由，而是先想跟這個題目有關的兩個小部分：

第一個部分是關於辭彙，也就是近義詞部分，比如customs and traditional ways of behavior這樣的詞，你得能比較輕鬆的想到同義詞，例如concepts, traditions, orthodox, obsolete, stereotypes, heritage, legacy；然後，keep的同義詞，比如remain, maintain, 再加上否定形式的preserve, change, alter, abandon這樣的也就差不多了

第二個部分其實更關鍵一些，是關於到底有哪些具體的傳統習俗是不太好的，而哪些傳統習俗是不應該丟的。不太好的習俗可以是性別歧視，可以是支持迷信反對科學（知乎上有木有哈哈）；好的習俗可以是保持禮貌待人，可以是支持傳統食物。至少這道題目我是先去想了例子，然後再由例子往回去試著總結出來理由，如果直接去想理由，我覺得概括的難度還挺大的，因為各位看下面我寫的東西的時候可以稍微注意一下，我並沒有在第一句就直接出現性別歧視，迷信，傳統食物，禮貌待人這幾個關鍵詞，而是在接下來的論述部分才出現，因為這幾個關鍵詞其實是屬於例子，而非觀點的概括，就像我去概括傳統食物的時候，我會說「人們應該尊重過去的習俗因為它是歷史和文化的一部分」，然後再去用traditional food作為具體的小點去展開論述，這個「總分」的感覺還是比較重要的~

接下來是開始寫作：

第一段我要做的是同義改寫和明確表達我的觀點，我比較喜歡用how to do sth./how sb. do sth.這樣的一個結構去給我們要討論的問題做一個小小的概括，然後再提出自己的觀點

When it comes to the issue about how to evaluate orthodox ways of behavior and customs, some people may argue that those should be abandoned in the current era, but I cannot agree with this opinion.

第二段我是寫了一個讓步段，說確實啊，有些傳統習俗是不好的。可能有些老師/同學會說admittedly這個詞太像模板，我的意見是只要用對了地方，並且寫的是自己的內容，考官並不會因為你就寫了個admittedly就把文章打成5.5分的模板文章，這個還是可以放心的~在這一段我用的例子是關於迷信的，關鍵詞是,superstition和supernatural power(美劇迷很得意哈哈)

Admittedly, some obsolete concepts should not be maintained since such concepts may be harmful for human beings. In the past, when some people got diseases (這個地方其實可以舉個例子，特別是在過去容易死人的那種，比如tuberculosis~) in some tribes, residents might not ask help from doctors; instead, they attempted to rescue patients through some rituals. Then, it is pitiful that some patients who could have been cured might pass away due to such stereotypes. Nevertheless, there still exist more merits acquired from old traditions.

在上一段最後一句話的轉折之後，接下來的兩段我都是去寫應該保留的好的習俗。第一個習俗我用的是中國的餃子。在一般情況下，我並不是很推薦考生去使用中國的例子，特別是計劃生育啊，文革啊這樣的，都不合適，但有兩個例子是很安全的，一個就是作為傳統食物的餃子（我知道你們在心裡念著好吃不過餃子，好玩不過......手動滑稽），另一個就是作為傳統建築的the Great Wall。這兩個例子是世界都知道並且不會產生太大分歧的例子~

Initially, traditions could be seen as a part of cultural heritage. For example, in Chinese culture, it may take a lot of time for people to make and eat dumplings, but the public are still willing to repeat such behavior on some festivals. Why? It is because dumplings not only originate from Chinese culture but also become a representative of Chinese culture. Thus, even in the modern world, traditions like having dumplings may still be kept because they are a witness of history and culture.

第二個例子是關於傳統美德的，那麼我在寫這一段的時候，第一句話稍微費了點力，因為傳統美德對人的好處該怎麼概括呢？最後還是選了behave properly作為一個總結，然後我選擇的例子就是有禮貌，例如尊重他人隱私和見面打招呼，我是覺得打招呼這個細節很生活化，比較簡單且形象~關鍵詞就是civility, modesty和good manners

Furthermore, old customs should be valued by individuals since they could behave more properly. Previously, it was admirable for people to show their politeness to others, such as greeting others frequently, which may be ignored by the public currently. However, if people realized the importance and necessity of civility, they would better communicate with others and enlarge their social network more easily. Thus, good manners in old times should not be disregarded for the public could still benefit from them.

最後做一個小小的總結就好啦~同義改寫還是需要的~

In sum, old-fashion concepts and customs should be maintained, considering that they exist to ensure uniqueness of old cultures and enlighten citizens about how to behave more appropriately.
