If we were to list buzzwords in China right now, 「Internet Thinking」 would top the list . We were confused the first time we heard the term, and you』ve probably never heard of or seen it on any English language media. With Chinese tech giant Alibaba one step closer to an IPO in the US, it』s worth exploring this latest buzzword in and from the country that gave us Jack Ma.

According to Alibaba』s Chief Strategy Officer Ming Zeng, 「Internet Thinking」 represents connectivity at anytime, anywhere to anyone so as to create and capture customer value. None of these phrases are new. Marketing people have been talking about customer centricity and Internet marketing before Marc Zuckerberg was born. So what exactly is Internet Thinking? Is it a 「fad」 or even 「bamboozlement」?
