第1期和第2期的TED研讀真的得到了大家非常非常多的讚許和反饋，Ross會把它做成一個系列真正通過這種主題演講，幫助大家提升各個模塊的能力，包括辭彙，發音，句型，想法和面試技巧。在學習過程中，我們的每個模塊都有相應的解決方案，辭彙句型和想法的學習是通過TED研讀長期和每日一題的造句練習句型改寫練習的堅持，發音和語感是通過長期群內打卡跟讀練習並且結合我們的免費糾音，面試技巧是通過我們方法論的最後一個模塊的學習。在這其中有2個環節請大家一定要注意，第一，所有的學習內容請搭配公眾號，不為營銷，只是很多材料和音頻放上知乎並不方便，很多功能這裡沒法實現。第二，我們每期的TED研讀會有專門的音頻講解和帶讀，所以請務必在公眾號回復TED1，TED2等以收聽免費課程。第三，後續打卡請按照要求，以正確姿勢打卡，隨著課程持續下去，你一定會覺得即便是免費課，也比市場上的「教育中介機構」要靠譜得多，有用得多，你會收穫更多。

minimize anyones struggle – 輕視其他人的問題

minimize 在這裡的意思是」to try to make something seem less important than it really is」. 與play down意思相近。

struggle直譯為掙扎，這裡引申理解為「其他人面臨的問題」更為貼切。

empowering means to give somebody more control over their own life or the situation they are in. 這裡指對…有控制權，即改變某人的想法/看法。

How do you feel about advertisements?

I would say I enjoy some of them coz they are creative, stimulating and well produced. But we have to confess, ads are always persuasive and alluring. Many of them would minimize people』s struggle of making decisions of purchase. The message and stories they delivered are empowering.

2. Otherwise, were puttering around the house or watching TV.

putter around – 在…周圍閒蕩

e.g.: I like to putter around in the garden. 這個短語可以和stroll替換使用

What do you like to do when it』s a sunny day?

Well, sunny weather is my favorite. On sunny days, I can do some outdoor activities such as swimming, camping, hiking or just putter around in the park with my friend. You know, whenever there』s sunshine outside, I just naturally feel delighted.

1. I know when I had a job that required two bus rides and a subway ride every morning, I used to go to the library on weekends to get stuff to read. It made the whole experience almost, almost, enjoyable. Breaks at work can be used for meditating or praying. If family dinner is out because of your crazy work schedule, maybe family breakfast could be a good substitute.

required two bus rides and a subway ride – 需要乘兩趟公交車和一趟地鐵

這是一個非常好用的句型，用來描述路途需要中轉的情況。例如：

My daily route to work requires two bus rides and a subway ride.

could be a good substitute – 可以是一個很好的替代品/方案

這個表達可以用來描述任何的alternative options.

What forms of transport do you usually use?

Um, the ride sharing actually. Not only did I use it today, I use it almost every day. Because you know, the public transport near my home is not that convenient. My daily route to work requires two bus rides and a subway ride. It is really hard and time consuming. Ride sharing is definitely a good substitute, not only for commuting, but also for puttering around in other places around the city. It is much more convenient and cost saving.

看到了么?就是這麼簡單。大家一定要有「打組合拳」的意識，每次的造句練習，都儘可能多的去結合和使用自己積累的素材，不要用題目約束自己的思維，而是要將自己積累的好的素材盡量運用到更多的題目中，這同時也是擴展答題思路的一個好方法。
