繼RISD和PARSONS獨立命題修改後，ACCD今年的本科申請也新增了一項要求。

那就是：增加一個Essay/小視頻！

作品集視頻和小短文要求：

At Art Center, we believe that communicating the motivation and process behind your work can be as important as the final piece itself. So we invite you to share with us the story behind one of your pieces of work in either a video or written essay format.

在ACCD，我們認為對於作品創作的靈感和動機的交流與最終成型的藝術作品本身一樣重要。所以我們希望你可以分享一下你作品集當中某一件創作（項目）背後的故事，可以用視頻或短文的形式來表達。

Address the following questions in your essay:

在你的短文中，請回答一下問題：

Why did you choose to create this piece?

為什麼你選擇創造這個作品？

How did you approach the making of this piece?

你是如何製作這個作品的？

What aspects of this piece satisfied your intentions?

這個作品的哪部分傳達了你設計意圖？

What, if anything, might you change about your piece?

如果選擇去改變這個作品的話，你會選擇改變什麼？

【Instructions】

Select one piece from your portfolio.

從你的作品集中選擇一個項目

Identify the title and date of the piece.

標明作品的名稱和創作日期

Make sure to list the title of the piece in Slideroom so that we can reference the correct piece.

確保在slideroom里列舉所選作品的名稱一致，以便我們賞析參照。

If you choose to make a video, length should not exceed 2 minutes total.

如果你選擇製作一個視頻，總長度在2分鐘以內。

If you choose to submit a written essay, length should not exceed 750 words.

如果你選擇提交一篇短文，總字數限定在750字以內。

Upload the video or essay to Slideroom along with the rest of your portfolio.

關於提交方式：視頻或者短文，在slideroom里和作品集一起上傳。

【NOTE】

It is the content of your submission that we are interested in. If you choose to make a video, don』t be concerned about production quality. Use the technology and resources that are readily available to you. Feel free to use your phone, for instance, to create your short video.

我們只對你的上傳的內容感興趣。如果你選擇上傳視頻，不要因為太在意而去故意提高拍攝質量。 用現有的資源和設備就可以了，例如手機。

現在針對以上要求獨家解析一下：

Essay/視頻的內容是需要選擇作品集中的一個項目/作品，對作品進行針對性的說明，主要考察學生對於項目的表達能力與創作中的動機與想法是否具有吸引力。

而Essay/ 視頻中需要回答的4個問題，前3個問題主要針對選擇的作品描述它的動機/目的、運用方法/手段、最終成品是否滿足了一開始的動機等與作品相關的內容；最後1個問題與RISD自主命題的essay有些相似，主要是想了解學生對於作品後續若做修改，希望修改的部份與發展的方向為何。

今年各所學校在獨立命題與作品集要求的方向都有很強的共性：極力希望了解學生在創作過程中的思路與想法，以及對項目延伸發展的思考與展現，因此，建議學生在作品集創作過程中，可以加強這兩個方向的持續性思考。
