OK seriously, I am like Professor Hawking in that I am also quadriplegic and on a vent due to advanced ALS. I also enjoy an active and satisfying sex life with my significant other. ALS only affects the nerves which control the voluntary skeletal muscles, not the love muscle. Sexual arousal and function is controlled by the Parasympathetic nervous system. With a little imagination and care, sex is still very doable and much the same as when I was healthy. The outcome (and output) is every bit the same. Without the usual protective measures, the result in approximately 9 months is also the same.

Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1963. The doctors initially gave him two years to live but the disease"s onset was not as rapid as they had expected. Two years later, he was still walking, albeit with a stick.
